Route 66 turns 100 today! Some of my best days have been spent on this road. I started exploring it back in 2011. Denny Smith and I started from his Route 66 shop in Hamel, IL and we went to California hitting all kindsa spots. That never really ended @kristenmeredith and I wandered on and off the road many, many times. One of the most memorable being a very cold dip at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM. Nothing quite as sad in the desert as Goffs station. Tucumcari has amazing neon signs. Moriarty demands you stay the night. A bunny will punch your post card in Staunton, IL at the rabbit ranch, and if you’re lucky the cows will let you in to visit the Cadillac ranch in Amarillo. I recommend you do some dilly dallying, or gallivanting along the mother road if ya can before some rich prick plows it and puts in some monstrosity that looks like all the other cookie cutter crap on the highway. #rt66 #route66 #bentdoor #paradisecafe #themotherroad
