Last night, under the full moon in Lagos, I did not host a public opening.
I held a private unveiling.
Not for applause.
Not for validation.
But for alignment.
Yesterday, Her Excellency, Princess Adesuwa Obaseki —the cultural ambassador to the African Union. the Queen of the Palms saw the finished work for the first time.
And she loved it.
But this moment did not begin yesterday.
It began on 9th October 2022. under the full moon, my mother saw my heart and spoke to my spirit.
She looked at me, not with full understanding, but with full faith and said:
“You have to step into the unknown to create the life you desire. I might not understand you fully, but my God will see you through.”
That sentence became my wilderness.
Like Jesus sending His disciples into unfamiliar cities with nothing but belief, I entered the streets of Lagos carrying only vision. No guarantees. No certainty. Just conviction.
I faced rejection.
I faced misunderstanding.
I faced silence.
But I also faced myself.
And somewhere in that uncertainty, I heard another voice.
“The world is your canvas. Goldwater, think like there’s no box”
Those words from the Queen of the Palms did not simply encourage me — they liberated me. She did not try to shrink my imagination. She did not try to make me conventional. She challenged me to create beyond my limits.
And when someone accepts you before the world does, something breaks open inside you.
So yesterday’s private viewing was intentional.
It was sacred.
It was necessary.
Before the public sees it.
Before critics interpret it.
Before the world labels it.
The mother had to see it.
Under the full moon, I unveiled the first secret of palmwine.
The work is titled:
EVE'S LEGACY.
Because you didn't only challenge me to be my most creative self [godlike self]. u provided the means to becoming.
This unveiling was not just about art.
It was about honor.
On this new cycle, I chose to honor the divine feminine.
i thank every woman who Aspires 4 me to be like GOD. pushes me out of my comfort zone.
