My Mother, a Divine Being who incarnated through the depths of patriarchal oppression in to Birth me into Being in the conditions necessary for me to Awaken to my Self ❤️🔥 an arranged marriage gone awry, coming to this country at 28 with 200 dollars, indentured servitude, getting kidnapped, another forced marriage, fighting her "husband" off at knifepoint. RESILIENCE does not even begin to describe. At 35 my mother was still in love with this world and wanted to have a child but she believed she might be infertile, when my dad refused to take no for an answer and asked her out almost daily for months...she eventually gave the Deeply Spiritual younger Jewish deadhead a chance...I'm so glad I'm alive but my dad was told by psychiatrists in the 80s that bipolar people should not have kids. My mother spent the next 20 years caring and providing for two daughters and a husband with severe mental health challenges. When my Sun was born, my father had a manic episode and their marriage eventually dissolved. In the last 5 years I've watched my mother tend to Herself for the first time and it's been one of the greatest gifts of my Life.
Blissing out for days and days and days with Laraaji and Arji at Esalen earlier this month. To all my mammas out there, please take that trip away you've been meaning to take. My beloved Adriana and I created so much spaciousness for ourselves within family life just by resting....surprise surprise.
Endless heart bowing in gratitude and appreciation for all the teachers seen and unseen. After a few hours of silent bathing, the springs whispered through me as I began to sing aloud, "River above and Sea below, why do we act as though we do not know?" I want to give you all words that would do the things to your brains and make you feel the good things in your heart. I've thought about getting off the gram, as I'm sure you have too.
