πŸ›  A closer look at the tooling and process behind machining key Atomic damper components. πŸ›  Here we are cutting the slot in a spring retainer on the Haas VF2 4 axis mill, ensuring accuracy and consistency where precise fitment is critical. Alongside that, the process begins on an acetal spring slider seat, being turned on the DN Solutions Lynx 2100LY 3 axis lathe, forming the foundation for a high performance, low friction component. Every step is carried out with precision and control, delivering the quality and reliability expected from high performance damper systems. #ZeroDamper #AtomicDamper #CNCmachining #HaasVF2 #DNsolutions #PrecisionEngineering #MotorsportEngineering

πŸ† SCCA S2000 Runoffs Champion Legacy πŸ† A true benchmark of success in the S2000 class, with multiple championship wins at the SCCA Runoffs in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008 and 2011, all achieved with John Fergus behind the wheel. This level of consistency at the front of the field speaks to exceptional engineering, preparation and performance under pressure, year after year against the best in the category. A legacy built on speed, precision and championship-winning reliability. #SCCA #S2000 #Runoffs #MotorsportEngineering #RaceWinning #PerformanceEngineering #ChampionshipWinning

πŸ”§ Carbir CS2 S2000 – Damper Rebuild for 2026 Season πŸ”§ Another incredible machine spotted out at Silverstone, now brought back to life by Chris Snowden of CSR ahead of the 2026 S2000 series. The Carbir CS2 S2000 was a highly advanced chassis when first released in 1995, originally designed and built in Wisconsin USA by Brian Utt. Imported into the UK as a new build, it came equipped from new with Quantum Type 4 double adjustable dampers. Ahead of the new season, Chris entrusted us to carry out a full rebuild on the dampers to ensure they are performing at their absolute best, restoring precision, control and reliability for serious track competition. Every rebuild is carried out with the same attention to detail these championship level cars demand, ensuring they are fully ready for the season ahead. πŸŽ₯ A privilege to be part of keeping race history alive and performing at its peak. #CarbirCS2 #S2000Series #QuantumDampers #SuspensionRebuild #MotorsportEngineering #TrackReady #Silverstone

Another fascinating project in the workshop β€” remanufacturing dampers for a Jordan F193, built using nothing but period photographs as reference. This particular design features an annular gas chamber, allowing us to achieve maximum travel within an incredibly compact space. The integrated shaft bearing and spring seat reduce the number of components, keeping overall weight to a minimum while maintaining strength and precision. We’re incredibly proud to play a part in keeping these iconic machines not only period correct, but fully functional and ready to perform as intended. Preserving history. Engineering performance. #GotQuantums #ClassicMotorsport #JordanF193

A little before-and-after from the workshop πŸ‘Œ Universal M52 x 1.5 ARB bracket for a McPherson strut setup β€” fresh off the machine and then anodised for strength, durability, and that proper motorsport finish. Because even the brackets deserve attention to detail.

Very happy to have supplied the dampers for Steve Nichols latest creation. This car is running our third-generation four-way X Series damper, and it’s been a pleasure to support the hard work that went into getting the car to Spain for this shoot. The team at Nichols Cars have truly surpassed expectations with this vehicle β€” a remarkable piece of engineering brought to life. Well done to Ben Collins for producing such compelling, watchable content. Something slightly different in the workshop today β€” a small project. This classic Ralt RT4 FA arrived with basic dome-head bolts and penny washers on the wing endplates and around the roll-hoop shrouds. Functional, but not ideal for appearance or airflow. The goal was to upgrade and streamline the hardware using a low-drag washer for a countersunk 10-32 UNF bolt. The challenge: nothing suitable available in the UK β€” only metric options. The solution was simple: Manufacture the parts ourselves. A precise, clean improvement for a timeless race car. #WorkshopLife #RaltRT4 #RaceCarEngineering #PrecisionMachining #MadeInHouse #LowDragHardware #MotorsportFabrication

December always feels even shorter when Christmas shutdown is in sight β€” and the workshop is flat out. Plenty of parts moving through the process this week: rough milling, turning, deburring, milling again, grinding, and finally spin-finishing. From raw stock to fully finished pistons and BMW mounts, each stage is controlled, checked, and refined. A lot of work in every part, long before it ever reaches final assembly. #WorkshopLife #PrecisionEngineering #CNCmachining #MadeInHouse #QualityFromStartToFinish

Rough milling a BMW mount today. Taking the billet down to shape before it heads into the next stages of machining. Big cuts, heavy chips, and the first step in turning raw material into a precise, repeatable component. Every part starts here β€” accuracy built from the very first pass. #WorkshopLife #PrecisionEngineering #CNCmachining #BMWMount #MadeInHouse #EngineeringDetail
