Fell into a fever dream last night—colors too loud to be real, gravity optional, time melting like wax. Woke up still stuck there… obsessed. Can’t tell if I’m chasing the vision or if it’s chasing me.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. —Ecclesiastes 3:11
So here’s what I’ve been working on at the Recording Academy... vertical documentaries coming soon! 📲🎶🔥 #GRAMMYS #GRAMMYsOnTheHill #NOFAKESAct #CLEARAct #TRAINAct
30. 🎂
My birthday is actually March 15th, but I figured I’d post early in case anyone wants to make plans with me. Truthfully, I’ve been okay with the idea of keeping it low-key this year. I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about the next chapter and setting new goals.
More than anything, I just feel grateful. Life is a beautiful thing when you get to experience it alongside people you love, music that moves your spirit, and the wonder of everything God created. Through all the highs and uncertainties, I trust that God has always had His hand over my life and continues to guide me toward something meaningful.
This new decade feels like a moment to realign. I’m putting together a 6-month plan and considering a possible relocation. The first place I’m planning to explore is Miami. If that happens, it would bring a close to over 7 years of living in Los Angeles.
And honestly… what a ride it’s been.
Los Angeles gave me experiences I’ll never forget and opportunities that shaped who I am today. Landing with an incredible team at the Recording Academy has been one of the greatest blessings of this chapter. But sometimes growth calls you back to that feeling you had when you first took a leap into the unknown.
That’s the feeling I’m chasing again.
A place where I can start putting down deeper roots. Somewhere closer to family. Still surrounded by sun, water, creativity, and communities centered around health, wellness, and genuine connection.
Here’s to new energy, new environments, and everything still unfolding.
What qualities make up a star? Heart, a hunger to learn, and the drive to succeed.
@wale , @alissia , @missmargoprice , and @realLindaPerry shared with us the advice they'd give to anybody trying to break into the music industry. Not just the basic stuff, but the things that really matter. The things that other's can see, but you can't.
Signed In Sound is a series of conversations from GRAMMY Week that aren't about awards or accolades. They are about the things that make us tick, the important pieces of our souls, and the future of music.
The music industry is a daunting space. Your moment can take a long time to happen.
@machinegunkelly , @loveAlexIsley , and @LeonardoAguilarofficial remind us not to let it get to us. You're following your dreams because you love music. You're doing it because it's how you express yourself. Everything else is just noise.
Signed In Sound is our way of bringing these important conversations to the people who need to hear them. Whether you're in the music industry already or trying to break into it, these are the lessons you need to hold close in your journey.
