It’s smiles all around as two of our Italian Gala soloists, QSO’s Chief Conductor @UmbertoClericiOfficial and Soprano Eva Kong, braved the rainy weather today for their official photoshoot ahead of the concert tomorrow.
Umberto Clerici will be making a rare solo appearance on cello for Vivaldi’s radiant Triple Concerto alongside guest soloist James Crabb on accordion and QSO Concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto.
While Soprano Eva Kong will perform beloved Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti arias.

What a wonderful start to rehearsals ahead of Friday’s performance of the Italian Gala.
Under the baton of Chief Conductor @UmbertoClericiOfficial , we danced through Rossini's Overture to The Barber of Seville and Selections from La Strada Suite by Nina Rota.
On Wednesday, we'll be joined by guest soloist Eva Kong to rehearse some beloved Italian opera classics.
Then, on Thursday, Clerici will switch from conductor to cellist, teaming up with Concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto and guest accordionist James Crabb to prepare a special arrangement of Vivaldi’s lively Triple Concerto, RV554a.
Judging by today, it's going to be a night to remember!

We're thrilled to announce that Australian/Korean soprano Eva Kong will be joining us for next week's Italian Gala.
Known for her clear, lyrical voice and expressive stage presence Eva has appeared in leading roles throughout Australia including the title role in Madama Butterfly, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Gilda in Rigoletto, Laura in Luisa Miller, and many more. Her portrayal of Laura earned her a Green Room Award.
We look forward to sharing her incredible talent with you all.
