“Grade Circle”
3.5’ x 5’
Acrylic on Canvas
2025
In my reimagining of Panamanian Molas, I’ve crafted a pattern style that intertwines the themes of my inspirations. The design, titled “Grade Circle,” serves as a visual metaphor for the core of our being, surrounded by the social circles we cultivate along the journey of life. As we navigate through grade school, these circles eventually merge, dipping into our very essence. With each representing the connections we forge and the experiences that shape us, it transforms into a dynamic exploration of community and identity. “Grade Circle”

“Banhana?”
Chalk pastel and mix media on Hanji
2026
Last piece of Hanji I got from South Korea still adjusting back to being home but it’s feels like my mind is still there
Maybe it’s a crush
Reimagining the painting “Leaders of Tomorrow,” this twelve-foot-wide artwork transforms into a piece of wearable art, embracing the vibrant energy and rich heritage of the Caribbean. It evolves with side embroidery that beautifully showcases the inspiring color palette of the design, all crafted from art
Looking back on the creation of Leaders of Tomorrow, I remember feeling very homesick while I was away for my residency. However, that space allowed me to channel my feelings and connect with my family through the archives, as I recreated both space and time. As a child, I would help my dad sell toys and face paint during carnival. It’s fascinating to see that he was a part of carnival even before I came into the picture.

I designed an aviator hat in South Korea as part of my study of form. I want to give a special shout-out to @lliabc for helping throughout the development process. The first prototype was created in the room we stayed in, and each piece carries the energy of South Korea while incorporating the spirit of Miami.
