Why we’re taking a human‑first stand on AI‑generated music
When we founded Qobuz in 2007, we made a promise to honor the artists, voices, stories, and hard work behind the songs you love.
Today, we remain committed to keeping music human as we encounter new challenges.
Our aim is simple: protect listeners’ access to human-crafted music and the artists who create it.

Ever wonder why we're called Qobuz? Or how to actually pronounce our name?
We take out name from the qobuz, a sacred instrument from Central Asia linked to shamanic ritual and supernatural powers. Just as Qobuz delivers the living across an otherworldly realm, we aim to transport listeners to another plane with music.
And for the pronunciation... we've got @waynecoyne5 from The Flaming Lips to help you out.

What are you pressing play on first?
Live music and at-home listening each have their perks. Both allow you to discover music in distinct ways and connect emotionally in entirely different environments. For those who love the best of both worlds, there are iconic live recordings like The Beatles' 'Live At The Hollywood Bowl,' or The Allman Brothers Band's "At Fillmore East."
But if you were forced to pick a side, where do you stand? 🎧 or 🎸?
After a 15-year hiatus, @socialdistortion returns with 'Born to Kill' solidifying their legacy as one of last true gangs of rocking rebels.
It's the kind of record that only comes from decades of rocking, blending no-frills rock 'n' roll with a poignant mix of punk and classic storytelling

Music is an intentional act that’s why we’re launching a new series, "UNCOMPRESSED" exploring the philosophy, ethics, and rituals behind how we listen.
First up is a deep dive into the whole-album experience. While we love a great playlist, and our curators work tirelessly to craft the perfect playlist for every moment, truly respecting music starts with respecting the artist’s intentionality.
