The 2026 festival of footy cast its spell with 8 games, 16 teams and 150,000 fans in attendance.
We’re making Magic Round even bigger and better, striking a deal with the Australian Rugby League Commission to host the event at Queensland’s Suncorp Stadium until 2032.

Jack’s Law has reached a major milestone, with 1,032 weapons taken off Queensland streets in less than 12 months.
Since the laws were made permanent and expanded statewide in July last year, more than 127,000 scans have been carried out, leading to 1,947 arrests and 3,773 charges.
Jack’s Law is named in honour of 17-year-old Jack Beasley, who was fatally stabbed during a night out with friends at Surfers Paradise in 2019.

Stronger biosecurity for Queensland with 40 new frontline officers 🍃
We’re adding 40 additional officers to the biosecurity frontline to protect Queensland’s agriculture, environment and way of life.
The new officers are stationed in 21 locations across Queensland, from Bamaga and Cairns in the north, to Nambour in the south and as far west as Charleville.
This recruitment drive delivers on our commitment to boost the biosecurity frontline by 100 officers and forms part of our plan for a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.

Delivering Kickstarter early intervention programs to make Queensland safer🚨
Our Kickstarter Grants provide funding for early intervention programs across the state to break the cycle of youth crime.
The Top Blokes Mentoring Program is one of over 50 Kickstarter programs we’re delivering across Queensland.
The program works with schools in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast to support at-risk 10-17-year-old boys to reconnect with education, training or a job.
This is all part of our plan to make Queensland safer — through stronger laws, more police, early intervention and rehabilitation.

Major tourism upgrade on the cards for Great Keppel Island 🏝️
We’re delivering an upgrade to Queensland’s Great Keppel Island to strengthen its visitor appeal and support our regional tourism economy through a $1.8 million investment.
Major enhancements to the onsite bistro are included in the renovations which will significantly improve facilities for island visitors.
The project is supported through our Tourism Icons Investment Fund as part of Destination 2045.
It’s part of our plan to build a stronger, more sustainable tourism industry that supports jobs, communities, and Queensland’s future.
