Been a busy last few weeks over at Belleair Country Club’s East Course renovation. This past week they started the tree relocation process and these videos don’t do it justice. Seeing a 45,000lb tree get move 1,000 yards is incredible. The guys over at @jdthornton_nurseries know what they’re doing - only took a little help from @qgsdevelopment excavator. I guess that’s why they’re known as the best in the biz. Belleair’s renovation progress over a two week span is something I’ve never seen before. The amount of work that’s already been done is incredible. @frystrakaglobalgolf is working their magic and the shapers are already painting a few of the holes of the new routing. We’ve had the opportunity to document the progress over the last month - providing updates to the members via photos and videos. National Surveyors Week! Today we’re highlighting Robert “Burt” Thompson, P.S.M., our Surveying and Mapping AVP, for his nearly 30 years of experience in the surveying industry. Burt has worked across a wide range of projects including boundary and topographic surveys, aerial photogrammetry control, construction staking, subdivisions, and infrastructure development. His experience spans roads, bridges, utilities, flood control studies, and major building construction, supporting projects from planning through construction. Throughout his career, Burt has contributed to important public infrastructure work with organizations such as Florida Department of Transportation, Polk County Roads and Drainage Division, Polk County Natural Resources and Drainage Division, the City of Lakeland, and the City of Sebring. From transportation corridors and wastewater facilities to environmental projects and site development, Burt’s expertise in surveying, mapping, and construction layout has played a key role in delivering accurate data and supporting successful projects across Florida. With a strong background in both field and office surveying, Allison brings a detail-oriented and practical approach to every project.
