a literary salon. a writing community. a creative club. there's a shit ton of branded titles I can give this space BUT at its core, it’s simply a space for you: the ‘serious’ writer, the busy writer juggling too many hobbies and other adult obligations, the comic who wants to start writing jokes, the MUBI / Letterboxd buff who wants to practice screenwriting or film critiquing, the poet, the novelist, the overthinker who just wants to plot and plan ideas on paper. etc.

i've never considered myself "a collector" even though i have a poetry collection, a decade long stack of handwritten letters from loved ones, and books that make my brain happy and sad -- i wonder why i veer away from that label? maybe because i pride myself being a minimalist not through aesthetic but through everyday living -- i don't like being attached to "a lot of things" it makes me feel strange, trapped even. like there's so much more oversight, like i have a lot to protect and perserve, and a girl is drained of energy sometimes. anyways!! i am also a sentimental fool and this fool is moving out of her first nyc studio apt and here are a few clusters of memories in all forms (love notes, photobooth pics, business cards, tickets, affirmations, manifestation lists, a shit ton of other lists, you get the gist) 🎞️

hello dear writers! our next meeting is a no digital meeting so no laptops and no writing on your phone. journals, books, magazines, sketchbooks, etc. are all very welcome.
we’re be starting with a blind book exchange :) if you have a book you want to pass along, wrap it in anything so it stays anonymous: newspaper, magazine pages, wrapping paper, whatever works.
optional: add a few hint words on the outside that relate to the genre/vibes or anything that fits the energy of the book. we’ll pile them together and do a free for all pick. once everyone opens theirs, you can swap with each other if something doesn’t feel like your vibe.
if the weather looks awful, we’ll raincheck for the weekend of May 23rd/24th.
