The landscaping is well underway for Dakota Hotel at Manchester Airport. A striking linear landscape layout mirrors the strong geometric design of the architecture, creating a bold and contemporary setting for the hotel. The bands of planting create visual interest, playing with texture, form and colour. Following strict guidelines from Manchester Airport and BNG requirement created an interesting challenge where we had to balance the clients needs and their strong brand with the wider stakeholder interests and the environment. Our Olive Lane project at Waverley has been shortlisted in the Place, Culture and Heritage category of the Landscape Institute Yorkshire & Humber Branch Regional Awards 2026! Working with our client Harworth and the project team, we have created a thriving local high street and social hub where all members of the community can meet, dwell, work and play. We're looking forward to attending the awards ceremony and meeting with the other finalists.

Introducing: the Prestbury project. Our biggest project to date! This was a real privilege to bring to life. The whole project was managed seamlessly from start to finish by our talented team. A full tennis court, pool, cold plunge, sauna, steam room, pool house, outdoor kitchen, pergola, sunken fire pit area, outdoor furniture ... not to mention planting scheme, koi pond, limestone paving throughout and natural stone cobble driveway. We’re taking a look back at our contribution to education and young careers development in 2025 and we’re proud to say that is equates to £132,317 of social value generated! At PWP, we’re always striving to take time to invest in the next generation of Landscape Architects / Garden Designers and strengthen connections we have built over the years. Together with local colleges, universities and career path organisations, we have dedicated time to delivering career advice, in person experience, skills workshops, work placements and mentoring support. Over the last year we have had the pleasure to invite three students into the design studio for hands on experience and offer over 11 hours of online support. After a successful week of work experience, Leah impressed us so much we decided to offer her a job of CAD technician. Lucy and Beth both attended UKREiiF as professional mentors to over 70 students through Constructive Futures scheme, Roger, Beatrice and Beth worked with Leeds Beckett University offering over 20 hours of support in educational workshops, and Pranjali offered her time with Leeds City College on landscape architecture awareness and education. Every member of the team has contributed to our overall social value total. Thank you to Pranjali and Cara for compiling everyone’s social value impact over the last year. We hope to continue our support for young people and continue to grow the awareness for careers in landscape architecture and garden design.
