The future of education will not be built in silos. It will be built through collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility. The Transforming Global Education Summit brought together leaders across government, technology, philanthropy, education, and multilateral institutions to rethink education as global infrastructure, designed not just to serve learners today, but to strengthen resilience, opportunity, and sovereignty for generations to come. This was more than a convening. It was a collective commitment to move from dialogue to design and delivery, building learning systems that are inclusive, future-ready, and built to reach everyone. #TGES

“Education is not only about learning. It becomes part of how resilience is built. How systems are strengthened. And how communities prepare for uncertainty.” The Transforming Global Education Summit built a space for changemakers to think more holistically about what education can become, as outlined in the opening remarks by Kerry Bannigan, President of the Board of PVBLIC Foundation.

PVBLIC is proud to join global leaders and innovators last week at the 11th Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Stephen Keppel, President of PVBLIC Foundation, participated in the “Harnessing Digital Technologies to Advance SDG Indicator Monitoring” side event, highlighting the importance of data for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). He presented on PVBLIC’s SDG Data Alliance and tools including the SIDS Global Data Hub to offer transformative solutions for SIDS, by SIDS. Additionally, Mr. Keppel joined the “From Orbit to Impact: Space Solutions Powering Sustainable Industry and Resilient Cities” event that was hosted by the Governments of Austria and Zimbabwe and curated by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), in partnership with PVBLIC Foundation. He gave remarks and moderated an engaging discussion on space for industry alongside Mr. Madin Maseeh, President of the Maldives Space Research Organisation, Ms. Donna Bethea-Murphy, Senior Vice President for Global Regulatory Affairs at Viasat, and other outstanding voices. Aris Woodyear, Operations Coordinator at PVBLIC Foundation, also attended the session in support of the Foundation’s engagement at the Forum. The session highlighted a critical shift: space is no longer a standalone sector. It is becoming foundational infrastructure for operations, sustainable development, and economic resilience. “The question is no longer whether space technologies matter,” explained Mr. Keppel. “The question is who is equipped to use them, and how quickly they can be integrated into real economic systems.” Through collaboration, innovation, and partnerships, PVBLIC Foundation is dedicated to expanding access to tools and technologies for all nations to have better opportunities to plan and thrive for the future. “We believe space-derived data — in the right hands, deployed with the right partnerships — can change the trajectory of sustainable development,” said Keppel. Efforts to increase capacity and awareness continue beyond the STI Forum.

At the United Nations Headquarters, the Transforming Global Education Summit was organized by PVBLIC Foundation, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga, and the Learning Economy Foundation, and supported by 256 Network Foundation and the UnitED Youth Council. The Summit featured representatives from the co-host governments including Hon. Dr. Mo’ale ‘Otunuku, Minister of Education and Training of the Kingdom of Tonga, and Mr. Clare Browne, Director of Education at the Ministry of Education of Antigua and Barbuda. What happens when global leaders, educators, innovators, and young voices come together with a shared purpose? We begin to redesign what education can be. Under the theme of this significant convening, Redefining Education as Global Infrastructure, a powerhouse of talented speakers brought their expertise and vision for the future, ranging from government leaders, professors and private sector representatives, to young students who came to deliver their demands.  We stand committed to rethinking learning as infrastructure that is connected, adaptive, and built for the future. From dialogue to action, this moment marked a shift toward systems that allow every teacher and student to thrive. And the work doesn’t end there. #TGES

This room is where digital and geospatial systems are being defined as national infrastructure. The future will not be shaped by innovation alone, but by the ability to coordinate it. The tools already exist. The real challenge is turning data, technology, and partnerships into systems that deliver. The path is clear: Access: The priority is ensuring countries can use what already exists. Alignment: Systems must be coordinated around national priorities. Action: Move from data to infrastructure, and from intention to execution. #Geospatial #data #DataInfrastructure #DigitalTransformation #beyondGDP

At the Geospatial World Forum happening now in Amsterdam, PVBLIC Foundation Executive Chairman Sergio Fernandez de Cordova participated in the plenary session, “Digital and Geospatial Infrastructure: Backbone for Resilient and Sustainable Development in Digital and Autonomous Age”. Sergio recapped and highlighted the 3 A’s for transformation: 🔵 Access. The priority is ensuring countries have access to that capability of tools, data and technology; not reinventing it. 🔵 Alignment. The real gap is coordination. Aligning geospatial data, systems and stakeholders around national priorities so they function as one. 🔵 Action. We need to move from data to systems infrastructure; from data to economic assets; and from intention to execution. In order to keep promises and commitments, we need innovative solutions and initiatives for a more sustainable future. PVBLIC Foundation offers a bridge to connect stakeholders from across sectors to meet the needs of communities around the world, including Small Island Developing States.
