am I seeing double? Another picture of my shizuku cosplay, but this time with my boyfriend @hardest.case as a genderbend version of shizuku with a more realistic blinky! The story behind our matching cosplays is quite funny. He offered to make my prop for me, since I was flooded with uni work. The first binky he made was the more realistic one. I liked it but wanted to go in a more anime-accurate direction, to which he immediately said he would make me another one (infinitely grateful for how this man puts up with my perfectionism and neuroticism Imao). He never told me what he did with the (unfinished) first Binky. As @ccon_comic_con_stuttgart grew closer he posted his cosplay line-up, which said his cosplay for sunday would be a surprise. I asked him what he would do but he refused to tell me. All of our friends and even my sister (and my parents??!!) knew what he was doing but all of them kept their mouths shut (believe me when I say I tried to get his cosplay out of them). Then Sunday of the convention arrives, I’m in the artist alley with my sister @grelltism , when she tells me I’m not allowed to turn or look around until she tells me to. And then, when she gives the ok, I turn around and there is my boyfriend. Dressed as the same character as I am. I was so happy, l didn’t know what to say at first (check out the reel on @hardest.case to see my reaction hehe). I was expecting everything but this! It was literally the perfect surprise! It was so much fun spending the day together in matching outfits! 10/10, would definitely recommend! Huge thank you to @df85_foto for taking the time to take pictures of us together! meet shizuku murasaki, spider no.8 of the phantom troupe, with her trusted blinky! At @ccon_comic_con_stuttgart my shizuku cosplay had its debut, and what can I say? I love this cosplay so much! HunterxHunter is one of my favorite anime and I love my strong but underestimated women! I’m so excited to wear her again next year! But it truly takes a village (esp when you are drowning in exam preparations), so huge shoutout to my boyfriend @hardest.case for making me my blinky! I’m still in awe with how accurate it is! cosplay is not consent. A little different from my usual content, but I want to speak up about this. The longer I actively cosplay and post content, the more I noticed how little some people care about consent when it comes to cosplayers. This can take many forms, starting at touching props or wigs without asking and ending at sexual assault. It is sadly so normalized that almost every cosplayer (esp female presenting cosplayers) have at least one experience with this. It is not ok and we need to speak up about this.
