Thailand Open Figure Skating Trophy 2026 #tofst2026
Advanced Juvenile
A very long caption.
Carma’s biggest ISU event to date, it’s always been a dream to perform on such a huge rink, usually reserved for official ISU competitions.
Why join this competition right after Nationals? Because this year is her last chance to compete at the Advanced Juvenile level due to the age cutoff. We didn’t have much time to prepare, as most of her training was focused on her Nationals program. Unfortunately, the program duration was significantly different, so we had to create a new one for Thai Open in a short time.
On top of that, the competition date was very close to Nationals, and her coaches were unable to attend. We were worried at first, but so many people stepped in to support her. Special thanks to coach
@leonardoanton for stepping in and giving quick, valuable input.
On D-day, as expected, she was very nervous. Even though she did great during unofficial ice time, I had a feeling something might go off. She lost her camel spin at the last minute and started to panic. I asked her, “What is your goal for today?” She said, “A clean program and I just don’t want to fall.” So I told her, “Then go do it.”
When I hugged her, I could feel her heart beating so fast it felt like it might explode haha 😂 So that’s how she feels in those final moments before performing. Baru tau.
When her name was announced, she stepped onto the ice and fought. She delivered a clean program, well, I mean a no-fall program. There were a few mistakes in her spins and choreo sequence, but she did really well. That’s enough for now.
She smiled afterward, happy that she didn’t fall. She was a little surprised by her score, but that’s okay. In the end, she placed 8th, not her personal best, but she achieved her goal.
Nevertheless, it was another great experience. Deepest gratitude to coach
@iwanfadhil ,
@coachgusbong ,
@johnysesanto , and coach Dian for their patience, understanding, and support in allowing her to join this competition despite the circumstances.
There’s still a lot to work on. Progress may be slow, but the road is long and she’ll come back stronger.
Congratulations nak ♥️
