When your cadence improves , you normally see:
- less ‘heavy’ running
- smoother turnover
- better flow at the same pace
Here’s a 2 week training protocol for you
- Download a metronome app or use playlists with specific BPM
- Start at your current cadence, then increase by +5 BPM
- Match your foot strikes to the beat (left + right = 2 steps)
👉 Apps like @spotify even have cadence-based playlists
📅 Simple 2-week plan
Days 1-4
- Measure your natural cadence
- Add +5 steps/min for short intervals
Days 5-9
- Increase time spent at higher cadence
- Try syncing full songs or longer stretches
Days 10-14
- Aim to hold improved cadence for most of your run
- Keep effort easy-don’t turn it into a speed work

1:1 interactions go further than you think …
Applying smaller or larger cues to individuals when needed , can stay with them for a lifetime
Making sure you have a touch point with everyone is key aswell. Creating trust with others is crucial, to see them apply what has been said
My thoughts on interactions step by step guide:
- Apply a response that’s firm , but not putting them down
- Step back , allow them to apply it , address someone else
- Come back , ask how it went , and what potentially they could do better
- Positively reinforce with what was done well and maybe further down the line, where they could reapply again
