this mid-winter break, i took a trip to panama. i was lucky enough to experience botanical facials using native plants and fruits from the islands around me, guided by two incredible, knowledgeable women.
the plant i’m using in this reel is called annatto, also known as the lipstick tree in panama. when you crush the little seeds from these red pods, a red pigment is left on your fingertips. it’s commonly used as natural makeup and food dye.
i thought this was so interesting and i’d love to dive deeper into other plants i can use for natural makeup 🫶🏼

Crazy in Love 🫀
What I’ve always loved most about romance books, especially darker stories, is their dramatic devotion. That image of tearing out your own heart and placing it in someone else’s hands.
That’s what inspired this set - my own take on the stories that move me most. I think I’m drawn to them because it’s a wild kind of love - the kind that consumes you in the most beautiful way. The kind where life without each other doesn’t feel like life at all. The kind where, quite literally, you would rip your heart out for the person you love. To me, that’s both the most macabre and the most romantic gesture imaginable.
Thank you, @her.socialstory , for giving me the space to explore this side of storytelling, and letting me feel safe while making everyone else just a little bit deliciously uncomfortable with this one. 😌
