Great day on the dyno with Franks 97 Supra!
Car made 1,080whp with a not so great manifold (wastegate priority) but man what a great car! Boost control (which can you can see up top on the dyno sheet) fought us all day. @cwboosted did his damndest to get this thing on target, but honestly that’s nothing as the car drives great, starts great and the customer now has a truly fun street car after 7-8 years of headaches.
Running @motecusa M150 & M&W igniter
Before we hit the dyno, we were able to fix all the wiring issues, fuel pumps, and some of the wildest things I’ve seen on a car to date.
Hi friends! So... I've been a little quiet re. the Supra recently... Here's the story... I picked it up at the end of last year and it was a complete disaster! The car was undrivable (that's not hyperbole - it literally wasn't drivable (not safely anyway)) and I was so disheartened that I basically just left it in the garage for a couple of months. In a moment of desperation, several weeks ago, I reached out to Ryan Scott of Pure Function to see if he had any ideas on how to remedy this shitty situation I found myself in with the car. He felt confident that he could get it sorted and I believed him and so I had it towed to him right away! You wouldn't believe me if I told you all the major stuff that was wrong with the car! In a matter of just a couple of weeks, he had this monster of a car up and running! I got it back from him and then over the next couple of weeks, I identified a few things that still needed to be addressed that weren't so obvious prior, so he just finished buttoning up all of those things yesterday. I picked up the car this morning and for the first time in YEARS, the car is truly enjoyable to drive! It's wicked fast, the transmission feels amazing, traction control and boost control now work, and he even got the cruise control to work (which was no small task since the car is running a standalone ECU - not the factory ECU!).
I had been at my wits' end with this car when I first got it back from being in the shop for well over a year and a half only to discover that it was a horrendous mechanical mess. I'm so grateful to Ryan... He literally saved the car! I was thinking I was just going to have to sell it as a project car because I didn't know what else do to! Thank you Ryan!
If you have a Supra, I couldn't recommend Ryan/Pure Function highly enough.
And Logan Visuals, still love this pic!
