My 2025 through (only a handful!) of shared tables😋
From traveling together, yearly catchups, daily hangs, celebrations, reunions, even interviews haha from fancy to casual to on the floor of a train station (you heard me) THANK YOU for your time.
(literally so many not pictured it makes me sad- if we shared a table I DO remember and i love u haha)
To more togetherness in 2026✨🥂
Hey! My heart kinda is in Jax Beach, ain’t it🍊
What a gift to workshop an original opera for the first time in the place where I really started being my own artist. Returning to UNF in this context felt like a solidifying of that. And to do it all with my dear friend @nicoleknorr who makes me better is a gift in itself. And to be backed by @johndaugherty90 who consistently lifts and hones young talent (rare people like him make the world go round). And with talented, hungry students who gave our work so much love and respect... all of it is kinda unreal!
Thank you all for having me 💙🧡
SILLA by Handel @csopera
What a blast to direct this piece centering around corruption in political leaders and deep love and devotion amidst chaos. It is always insanely brave to love! Thankful for this company, this team, and these artists✨

Performances, of course are the final product- the thing that we work towards and finally get to share with the audience. It’s exciting, adrenaline-filled, and often tearful!
For the life of an artist though, most of our days are spent in the rehearsal room. It may sound mundane, but it’s also tearful, also adrenaline-filled, also exciting and special. It is the place of growth, true vulnerability, and trust. I told my cast on day one to treat our little rehearsal room like it’s special, therefore it is. That meant no phones, no outside distractions, no judgement. Just us and this weird, magical thing we do: Diving into people and scenerios outside of ourselves, all while simultaneously creating beautiful, intentional mergings of sounds.
I love performances (and more on that soon) but God, do I love the process✨ Bravi to my beautiful cast of SILLA, and a big kiss to all the special, magical rooms we get to be in every day.

Still can’t believe this happened?!? What an absolute pleasure to be at the Opera America conference this year as a recipient of the Robert L.B Tobin Award. To spend so much time building something we care about and believe in and then get recognized for it was simply an amazing feeling, especially for a group of young artists just itching to get our hands dirty! Being able to get up there and talk about a piece as frustratingly poignant as Missy Mazzoli and Royce Vavrek’s Breaking The Waves was nothing short of life changing. So yeah here I am (again) throwing a big ol’ thank you into the void that is the internet but I kinda wanna scream it on a mountaintop, so this less dramatic but lowkey similar alternative will suffice. Thank youuuu ahh omg!!! 🫶🏽🌊
So excited for these upcoming shows! Some new works, baroque, and one of my favorites 🥰 All taking place in my favorite city with some really amazing people. Just feeling incredibly lucky.
