MUSEUM OF TIME, Royal Docklands, London The project started as a response to the site’s proximity to the dock edge by opening up large views towards the water and bringing soft North sunlight into the exhibits. The triangular opening reflected on the water created the imagery of an hourglass, which inspired the museum’s theme. The museum is envisioned as a monument to the passage of time, preserving the past, but also looking ahead into the possible futures. This philosophy is core to the design of the structure. Its form embodies timelessness; striving to feel archaic, yet contemporary. This project challenges the traditional museum experience. The use of AR technology brings the exhibits to life, creating a more immersive experience. Museum storage is no longer hidden, instead it is integrated into the cafe and put in display, engaging viewers with behind the scenes. #architecture #architecturelovers #museum

MOBILITY CENTRE, Royal Docklands, London The aim of the project is to incentivise the use of sustainable transport options, such as micro-mobility and electric cars, within the Docklands community. The centre provides rental, repair, and retail services. The initial concept was to incorporate a sculptural element made up of hanging bikes that would act as a focal point to attract visitors into the building. The idea evolved into a looping conveyor belt system, visually connecting all the spaces harmoniously around a central atrium. The sculpture is also functional; damaged bikes are put on and taken up for repairs and sent back down once fixed. #architecture #architecturelovers #sustainable

INSULA, Royal Docklands, London The project is a housing scheme designed to last for generations. The goal is to foster a resilient, connected community within a self-sustaining ‘island’, or insula. The design concept was to create pockets of communal spaces, visually expressed with colour, between each housing unit. Each apartment has an open floor plan with built in furniture modules that can be moved to alter the layout of the space in accordance to the user’s needs. The apartments are arranged in a courtyard layout around a central garden, with community facilities such as gym, nursery and clinic located at the corner blocks. The market street at the ground floor is open to the inhabitants as well as the general public. The shared roof provides a communal farm for the inhabitants to grow their own crops. #architecture #architecturelovers #house
