I am partnered with @pulsarmodular today to show off the new P422 Fairuz! It’s such an amazing plugin that sounds so analog and I’d recommend it to anyone, especially bass players!
I’d like to also mention that the p42 Climax is my fave too. I use it on everything cause it just sounds like an analog preamp.

P422 Fairuz v2 is here.
Brian Vibberts on the Fairuz EQ:
"I instantly loved the sound of the Fairuz EQ, and as I dug deeper into the parameters, I realized how powerful it is! It sounds very analog to me, without the analog hiss."
Brian is a 6x Grammy and 1x Latin Grammy winning producer/engineer. His credits include Chick Corea, Lalah Hathaway, Stanley Clarke, Gary Burton, and Christian McBride.

Had to get the car checked to put the salvage title in effect, so I shot this at the garage of @hung07071971 aka “Easy Money” in San Leandro while he got my car road- and DMV-compliant.
I don’t add new plugins very often. It usually takes a true problem-solver to earn a place in my workflow. @pulsarmodular ‘s P915 Medusa is exactly that.
The P915 Medusa isn’t a traditional EQ. It’s a parallel frequency balancer that reinforces fixed spectral regions and blends them with the original signal. Nothing is cut. Nothing is repaired. Weight, articulation, and density are shaped through contrast rather than removal.
I was also invited to contribute my own starting points (not quite presets), and seeing them included in the release is genuinely humbling. Thank you for the trust, Ziad.

There’s no need to be superstitious about this new plugin form @pulsarmodular . While it may “look” like an EQ at first glance, that’s not what it is or what’s its function is geared towards. It’s actually a mastering tool (theoretically) but I’ve found it incredibly useful in a mix situation.
What it actually is…. a parallel processor designed to ADD specific frequencies to a track that you didn’t actually know you may have needed to add last as the final finishing touch to a mix or master.
Here’s how I’m using it. After finishing a mix completely, I’m adding to my mix bus just before the final limiter. Because it’s a parallel processing tool, I start by raising up the “Delta” parameter in the upper right corner about 90 percent so I can focus specifically on the frequency points that can use a tiny little bump.
I then dial in a hair of those frequency points once determined and switch back to parallel mode and turn that down to closer to 20 percent. Tweak those points a little, including “Air” and “Foundation” and finally adjust the over all balance of low vrs high end. There are over sampling options and transformer options as well.
What’s amazing is taking a mix that already feels great and finished and then adding in this tiny amount of additional processing and the difference is astounding. And with so little being done with it. And BTW, it magically adds a touch more of level. Although I tend to turn the input level down .5db… but it still adds a little level. Why? Because it’s being used in parallel.
Using this tool is significantly easier than what may be suspected. I HIGHLY encourage you to check it out.
You can find a detailed tutorial on thier website.
Remember… I’m not adding it to the mix bus until AFTER I have what was going to be a finished mix. I don’t call it mastering in this scenario simply because after I add this in, I don’t have to remove it if there is a client requested tweak to the mix. It stays from that point on.
Go get the demo and watch the tutorial on the Pulsar Modular website. Thank me afterwards. Or better yet… them.

P915 Medusa is not EQ. It reshapes spectral balance in parallel without attenuation.
