We were invited to design a space for the third annual @livingbydesignshowhouse … and we knew it couldn’t be just another guest room. So we created a full escape.
Layered materials, a statement ceiling, bold stone, and hidden moments of function—all designed to feel like a boutique hotel experience inside the home. Because the best spaces don’t just look good. They stay with you. Explore the full #LivingByDesignShowhouse at the link in bio. Plus, pick up a copy of the May/June issue of Luxe Interiors + Design to see it in print! If you’ve ever looked at a room we designed and thought — I didn’t know you were allowed to do that — this book is for you. Fearless Design: Interiors from Pulp Design Studios is available for pre-order today. It’s the first time we’ve put everything in one place: the projects, the philosophy, the risks we took, and the ones our clients trusted us to take on their behalf. We didn’t want to write a book full of beautiful rooms that felt out of reach. We wanted to write a book that makes you feel brave enough to actually live in your home — boldly, personally, and without apology. Pre-order is live now. Link in bio. This one is for you. For Dallas designers Beth Dotolo and Carolina Gentry of Pulp Design Studios, the foundation of great design lies in materiality and intention. “In this powder room, we wanted the fixtures to feel like sculptural jewelry against the darker palette. The Newport Brass pieces brought warmth and refinement, catching the light in a way that makes the space feel intimate and elevated rather than heavy.” Rather than chasing trends, their work is rooted in confident contrasts and timeless materials. “When you pair strong elements like deep plaster walls and graphic stone with well-crafted fixtures like Newport Brass, the room feels layered and memorable rather than tied to a passing trend.” That philosophy was carried through every decision, especially when choosing the Newport Brass Pavani Wall Mount Faucet in Satin Brass for this powder room. Craftsmanship and detail are essential to how a space is experienced. “When pieces are thoughtfully made, they add depth and authenticity—creating a space that feels rich and intentional.” Design: @pulpdesigns // Photography: @codyulrichphoto

Some homes don’t need a complete rewrite. They need a fearless reintroduction. This historic living and dining room already had incredible bones… coffered ceilings, original millwork, layered architecture… but it was waiting for someone to push it beyond “pretty” and into memorable. So we leaned in. Hard. Graphic wallpaper wrapped the room and completely changed the energy. Saturated color, sculptural furniture, vintage influence, and unapologetic contrast brought the spaces to life while still honoring the home’s history. The result feels collected, experiential, and deeply personal… exactly the kind of transformation we talk about in Fearless Design. Proof that sometimes the boldest move isn’t starting over… it’s seeing the potential in what’s already there. #FearlessDesign #PulpDesignStudios #InteriorTransformation #HistoricHomes #EclecticInteriors

3 seconds. A hundred fearless decisions. The bold risks, the layered details, the spaces that make people feel something… all captured in a blink. And somehow, every one of these moments tells the story of Fearless Design. This book is more than pretty rooms. It’s about creating homes with personality, emotion, and the confidence to trust your instincts. We can’t wait to share it with you. Fearless design doesn’t always have to shout. Sometimes it’s a moody green tile moment, a sculptural mirror that steals the scene, or a bedroom layered with pattern, texture, and personality that somehow still feels effortless. This never-before-seen primary suite was designed to feel immersive from every angle. We leaned into contrast everywhere… dark and light, glamour and edge, softness and structure… to create spaces that feel bold, memorable, and deeply personal to the client. The primary bath wraps you in rich emerald tile and dramatic black fixtures, while the bedroom balances ornate details with playful color and layered textiles. Every decision was intentional, and every layer adds to the experience of the space. A reminder that the most unforgettable rooms are usually the ones that took a little courage to create. Swipe to see the bathroom BEFORE! 👉🏻👉🏼 #FearlessDesign #LuxuryInteriors #PrimarySuite #InteriorDesign #beforeandafterhome

Sometimes the biggest transformations come from the smallest gestures. We designed this entire home, but recently came back to give the playroom a thoughtful little nudge… proof that you don’t always need a full renovation to completely shift the feeling of a space. A soft sage color block, oversized wood bubble trim, blush drapery, and a few layered details turned a blank playroom into something that feels playful, elevated, and intentional without losing the magic of being a kid’s space. We love these kinds of updates because they meet families where they are. The toys still take over. The dolls still line the cabinets. The trampoline still lives in the middle of the room. But now the backdrop feels just as considered as the rest of the home. #PlayroomDesign #InteriorDesignDetails #LayeredInteriors #FamilyHomeDesign #PulpDesignStudios

NEW WORK! A little moody. A little mischievous. A lot cooler than the rooms we had growing up. We designed this boy’s room and bath to feel layered, collected, and able to grow with him over time. From the deep blue tile and warm walnut vanity to the tailored wallcovering and leather headboard, every detail was meant to strike that balance between playful and polished. It’s one of our favorites because it proves kids’ spaces don’t have to sacrifice style to still feel personal and livable. #PulpDesignStudios #KidsRoomDesign #LuxuryInteriors #BathroomDesign #InteriorInspo

Before Pulp was formed, nearly 20 years ago, we were admiring the work of @thomfilicia from afar. His fearless point of view, confidence, and ability to create spaces with personality made a huge impression on us as young designers trying to find our own voice. Never in a million years did we think we’d one day be sharing cocktails with him… let alone asking him to write the foreword for our very first book. And yet, here we are. Thom’s generosity, encouragement, and belief in what we’ve created means more than we can properly put into words. Having him lend his voice to Fearless Design feels like a full-circle moment and honestly, a little bit of a pinch-us situation. Forever grateful. And even more excited to finally share this book with all of you. Fearless Design — out September 15. Honored to be part of the inaugural Design Ambassadors at @dallasmarketdesign ! Some of the best in the business, all in one place. And yes… if you’re looking closely… @bethdotolo is there. Kind of. 😂 Out of town but refusing to miss a moment, so we did what any reasonable design team would do: we photoshopped her in. Commitment, but make it digital. Excited to be part of this crew of real life design friends! Big ideas, strong personalities, and clearly… problem solvers. Thank you @dallasmarket ! #DallasMarketCenter #DesignAmbassadors #InteriorDesign #PulpDesignStudios #DesignIndustry

A @graciestudio glow up… We’ve worked with this client for over a decade, so when it was time to revisit their primary bedroom, we knew we could push it. The before had great bones, but felt heavy and disconnected. The after brought in lightness, intention, and a canopy moment that changed everything. But the real shift? The level up. Once the client invested in the layers, the Gracie wallcovering transformed the room… adding depth, softness, and that quiet, collected luxury. Proof that the magic is always in the layers. #PrimaryBedroom #InteriorDesignTransformation #LuxuryInteriors #GracieWallcovering #LayeredLiving
