When I tell you I have been having the BEST TIME going through my old Barbie stuff, finding TREASURE, repainting toys, sewing pillows, restoring dolls and accessories (That Barbie Dream Kitchen is so dope), and of course crafting new gear so she can box and play DnD like me 🥰, all for my dear friend Betty. 💖 These projects have brought me back to life in ways I can hardly explain, and have been the most fun. The eye look is entirely from @cosmic_brushes “The Lovers” palette—perfect for a wedding in Hobbiton. I topped the eyes with my favorite demi-lashes by @robertwlsh for @blendbunnycosmetics . Overall, an all-bangers collection of products (obvs not paid to say this). This look was brought to you by a lifetime of enjoying and playing with makeup, a very large coffee, and a general refusal to stop wearing bold colors and shimmers just because I’m 50. 😝
Once upon a time in the mid-90s in Colorado these three goofballs became friends. I have been lucky enough to hang onto these dudes for 30 years, which is extra cool because now I also get to be friends with their dope wives and kids. I get to see Chris often at our regular D&D game; reconnecting with Pat in New Zealand was wild, mostly because…it didn’t feel wild at all. More like, “Of course. Here we are.” What a gift it is to go through this world knowing lovely people and being known by them. 🥰
The last 2 weekends have been delightfully filled with rolling dice, from #WizardsandBlizzards with the family and a growing number of friends in St. Paul, to #Dirty20Convention yesterday with the @tfnonprofit , to regathering The Foxtail Gang today for Season 2 of our ongoing campaign. Playing DnD (and so many other fun RPG systems) has been an outlet in hard times, a connection point with friends old and new, and a way of reconnecting to our humanity through storytelling. (Plus, did I get to injure AND insult the devil that was kidnapping good people in last night’s game? Yes.) I think playing these games has made me a better leader, a better coach, maybe even a better person, and I’m just so grateful for all the dope people I know that will hang out and roll dice & tell stories with me. 🥰
