Puerto Rico’s future is tied to its living coastline.
✨Un Pueblo de Coral, directed by 🎬Ben Fiscella and produced by ISER Caribe, brings us into the coral reefs that have surrounded Puerto Rico for thousands of years and the people working to protect them. Through voices from the island’s coastal communities, the film explores reef restoration, biodiversity, environmental change, and our responsibility as caretakers of the island.

Synopsis:
English: Puerto Rico confronts crisis and change across the coral reefs that have ringed the island for thousands of years. A variety of voices and visions from its coastal seas explore modern-day strategies to encourage these animal forests to regenerate into hyperproductive havens of biodiversity. Un Pueblo de Coral (A Village of Coral) is an ecocentric exploration of how the island’s future is intertwined with its living coastline, a rallying cry for Puerto Rican participation as stewards of the reef.
Español: Puerto Rico enfrenta una crisis ambiental y cambios en los arrecifes de coral milenarios que han rodeado el archipiélago. Una variedad de voces de la isla comparten sus conocimientos y puntos de vista para visibilizar maneras sostenibles de proteger la biodiversidad en estas murallas vivientes de la costa. Un Pueblo de Coral es una exploración ecocéntrica del futuro del archipiélago, que se entrelaza con sus selvas acuáticas hechas por animales, un llamado pues, a que sus habitantes pongan su granito de arena como cuidadores de los arrecifes de coral.
