Dallas crowds still haven't found Puerto Cocina, a newcomer tucked into an office building on the quiet end of the Design District. But they should. This new Mexican seafood spot is a team-up between chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman and the owners of Xaman Cafe, and it features an all-Mexican wine list and seafoods rarely seen north of the border. Our top tip: order all the one-bite snack specials before moving on to your appetizers. The full review is now on our website, and at the link in our bio. (📷: Dan Padgett)
Behind every great meal is a woman who taught us how to make it feel like home. This Mother’s Day, treat her to an afternoon she deserves. Limited seating, reserve your experience via Resy or by phone.

Just found our new favorite restaurant in Dallas tucked away in the Design District 🙌
This spot pulls from the coastal flavors of Baja and Valle de Guadalupe and does it in a way that feels completely different. Everything is lighter, brighter, and really thoughtfully put together. The crudos especially stood out, but honestly everything we had was so good. From raw seafood preparations to house-made masa and seafood-forward dishes (plus plenty of options beyond seafood), you can taste how fresh everything is and for the level of quality, the value is honestly kind of insane.
Nothing feels heavy or overdone. Every dish is clean, balanced, and intentional in a way that just lets the ingredients shine.
The wine list is also really well done, focused on Mexican wines and clearly put together with intention it all pairs perfectly with the food.
What we got:
• Aguachile de Atun ($24)
• Snapper Crudo ($24)
• Puerto en Seis ($26)
• Grilled Lamb Chops ($42)
• Scallop Tataki ($34)
• Meringue Batons ($10)
• Coconut Semifreddo ($10)
Definitely looking forward to going back ASAP. This place is perfect for date nights, celebrations, or just a treat for seafood lovers 🐟
