I don't care if your video was shot at home, in your backyard, in a van down by the river, I don't care I want to see what you got. The last couple of years have been pretty intense to say the least. Access to good video is hard. @puckduction made a commitment to film 70% of our shows starting in 2022, but that's not always realistic or financially accessible for some producions to be able to provide. Classism and Elitism run pretty rampant in burlesque, and goes mostly unchecked too. The privilege on display at times would be humorous, if people weren't actually drinking the kool-aid. @puckduction and I will continue to be the change that I wish to see in burlesque over here. We're not reinventing the wheel, we're just being very deliberate and outspoken with our choices in regards to diversity and equity. Our festivals celebrate the marginalized, which doesn't necessarily make us inclusive due to the specific marginalizations we focus on. But there are a lot of festivals that are open to all that still fail to provide spaces for marginalized performers and look the same year after year...so 🤷🏾‍♀️ there's that. We have extended the 2026 Queer Court Application until April 18th (this Saturday). CONTESTANT REQUIREMENTS: 👑 21 years of age or over 👑Must be willing to participate in ALL three portions of the competition. 👑Must secure or personally provide a donation (raffle item, VIP gift bag item, etc) with a total value of no less than $50 for the What the Funk? Festival 👑Must be within in a three hour drive from Downtown Seattle If chosen as the winner of Queer Court, you will receive the title of Queer Monarch 2026, you must: 👑 Promote the What The Funk?! Festival at least three times between the conclusion of the competition and the What The Funk?! Festival (August 20-22, 2026), repost and share social media posts for upcoming Puckduction shows, fundraising and performance applications throughout your title year, and return the following year to crown the Queer Court winner (in the event this competition continues). 👑Host at least one fundraising event for Queer Prom (idea or event must be approved by Mx.
