My Debut EP ‘Still Swinging’ is out now.
It was a pretty big decision to start this new venture under a new name. The idea came from a growing resentment of the music industry. I became so fixated by numbers and growth that my sense of worth began to fluctuate with them.
I made a conscious decision from the beginning of Pub Singer to step away from playing the Spotify/ industry game, and haven’t promoted them since the start of this project. Yet, we need our music to be accessible. So it needs to live on all of these platforms. Which is the conflict of any artist with a soul.
I put a lot into this EP, and learned a lot about myself and my patterns of sabotage, anxiety, escapism. I did this EP for myself. And I am glad I got this first project over the line. Whether you like the project it or not, it exists. And that is something to be proud of.
With no: label, manager, PR campaigns, radio pluggers etc. , I managed to create something solid, and it is very much down to the amazing people that collaborated with me over the past year.

@leifmainesounds for producing this project with me. I took songs that I’d written in my room, and we put our heads together for many an hour in the studio to create what has become the beginning of Pub Singer.

Anyway, fckin Grammy speech over now. Didn’t feel right to just say EP out now, because I wouldn’t have anything to show without the help from these amazing people.
It’s not easy being an independent artist. Alas, we continue to keep swinging, because what else are we gonna do?
