The first iteration rejected rigid typographic structures, embracing irregularity and organic forms. In a landscape dominated by pristine, precision-driven fonts, Yamantaka stands apart—its distinct character balancing contemporary refinement with historical resonance. As the design evolved, the need for a broader character set led to extensive experimentation, expanding the letterforms and reshaping the type’s overall texture. The origins of Cina Sans trace back to 2023 when a custom type inquiry sparked the idea of creating the “ideal sans.” This vision was refined through extensive testing, thoughtful application, and critical feedback, leading to multiple iterations and adjustments across its nine weights.
