A few days ago I finished a 10 day Vipassana meditation at the Dhamma Suttama centre in Montebello. Along with The 70+ males in the program I committed to adhering to noble silence, no communication among participants , to give up my phone, to not kill ( eat vegetarian ) , stay between the boundaries of the course and not to write or record my experience in any way other than in our minds . We were also asked to meditate 6+ hours a day and to commit to a meditation posture for 1 hour sits.
On day 5 I had a meltdown and had to start drawing so I made a pen (illegal!) out of a stick (you can see it in image 3) and used coffee to draw on the small scraps of paper that were in the hallway for people to ask for practical things from the assistant instructors .
Thank you Folgers coffee ☕️
It’s amazing how sharp , agitated and aware of how unaware you’ve been sitting through the discomfort. I’m going to try to do a vipassana meditation once a year or more from now on .
Highly recommend it !
Here are two recent pieces made by combining printmaking (inking up plastic bags and running it through the press ) and acrylic paint . Both are 29 x 22” . Nice to put the junk in the recycling bin to use .

Ive been collecting some fuck ups from a CNC shop for some new paintings. This one is 4x4 feet of immaculate 1” baltic birch ply . starting point heaven . 🍳🪺 [i think there are 2 more this size to pick up …. [[[]]] ….. looking for more and will eventually make some specific CNC cut pieces for some larger works ] Would be nice to build a big wall made of 3 sheets of 4x8’. Heavy . Will need a pretty beefy structure to hold it . A friend said they seem ancient script or made up fossils . what would this look like if used to cast cement walls ? Hard to remove ? Maybe not 🦦
One of life’s most preposterous tales never to be told due to a thick NDA and a smorgasbord of top notch characters 🇲🇽 🚀 🌵
@flyingfacingbackward and I started this piece in the desert a while back and managed to paint & construct what y’all see here over 3 days. . The paintings origin story and why it disappeared without being completed takes the cake as one of life’s most improbable howdoyoudooz EVVVEERRRRRR.
To be told posthumously I promise 📖 .

On March 3, 2008, four multimillion-dollar homes were set on fire in Echo Lake, Washington, on Echo Lake Road, off State Highway 522. Slogans spray-painted on one of the burned houses' fences attributed the arson to the Earth Liberation Front, with words such as "Built Green? Nope black!
