Attending the Palm Springs Drone Fest 2025 was an unforgettable experience filled with energy, innovation, and community. It was an honor to be a VIP speaker at the festival! A heartfelt thank you to Skip Fredricks for his visionary leadership and dedication in organizing this groundbreaking festival. His commitment to advancing drone technology and education made this event a resounding success.
The event brought together an outstanding group of industry leaders, including Tim Ingram, Desiree Ekstein, La'Quata Sumter, Ph.D, Fiona Lake, Sally French, RoseAnn Denton, Sam Scully, Vic Moss, Jamar Williams, Jason San Souci ∞, Renee Jones-Welch, PhD, and Tony Reid. Their insights and leadership added depth to a weekend packed with learning and inspiration.
The festival offered something for everyone: FPV drone racing,
@FIDA drone soccer, stunt cinematography showcases, robotics demonstrations, and conversations about the evolving role of drones in public safety and law enforcement.
One of the most meaningful moments for me was reconnecting with the Korean drone soccer team. Our last meeting was at the 2023 FIDA Drone Soccer World Championship in Incheon, where my team proudly placed 3rd and they took an incredible 1st place finish. It was great to see them again and relive the memories of such a pivotal competition.
I also had the opportunity to join a podcast conversation with Sally French, also known as The Drone Girl, Desiree Ekstein from Women and Drones, and Ryan Sharrott on the Real People Real Life Podcast. It was an inspiring discussion about how drone technology is changing lives, creating careers, and opening doors for the next generation.
I left the weekend feeling recharged, grateful, and even more motivated to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in drone technology and education.
