HEALTH REPORT

Today is the last day I have to take my post-prostate cancer radiation meds.
•
Sure, a little pill shouldn’t be a big thing. But I look at it like this; the thing that is keeping me good, makes me feel fucking awful…
•
The drug is named Orgovyx, and it was the first oral hormone therapy for advanced prostate cancer. Yes this is great because before this pill, these types of meds had to be administered via IV
•
So this drug was and is a game changer indeed. But it also changes the way you feel.
•
The most common adverse events reported among relugolix-treated men include hot flushes, increased glucose, increased triglycerides, weight gain, musculoskeletal pain, decreased hemoglobin, fatigue, constipation, diarrhea (yes, BOTH at different times) and increased levels of certain liver enzymes.
•
Let’s just say I am glad I was able to take it, but I am sure as hell glad to get off of it..
•
Do yourself a favor and get a simple PSA blood test so you don’t have to deal with all of this prostate cancer drama.
•
