Join us THIS FRIDAY, Dec. 12, for the premiere of @i.c.v.z Sn. 3, Ep. 3, “Relic,” at the historic @capitoltheater in Burlington, IA. Iowa City folks wanting to carpool can meet at the @p_s_won Close House parking lot (538 S Gilbert St) and depart at 5:30pm for the 7pm screening.

PS1 and FilmScene are partnering to offer two stop-motion animation workshops for adults this winter!
Stop-motion has been used for over 100 years to make movies! During this workshop, participants will work in pairs to create a handful of short animated projects, using everyday objects, art supplies, toys and, of course, clay. Participants will learn the basics of stop-motion in the first half of the session, and during the second half of the session, will work on a longer, more involved project.
You need only bring a sense of imagination, comfortable attire, and a little dose of patience, and you’ll walk away with the skills to make your own animations use the free Stop Motion Studio software!

Venezuelan filmmaker Diego Andrés Murillo will be joining us ahead of a secret screening for his unreleased film, for an exclusive screening of his collection of short films (immigrant horrors in wintery Brooklyn…pandemic diaries of home and death…a detective story pieced together from Swiss archives…speculations about death and what lies beyond). The screening will be followed by a reception and in-person discussion with the director and producer.

Media Arts Coop Filmmaker Feedback Group Thingy (working title…) is a monthly meeting for filmmakers of any experience level and any form/genre to workshop works in progress. Films may be in any stage of completion and workshops can include anything from table reads of screenplays to screenings of rough cuts to brainstorming sessions about experimental techniques. Several projects will be workshopped each meeting.
