Very sad to see that Baron Bob Kerslake has died. He was our client for the Sheffield Heart of the City Project, the Winter Garden and the Millennium Galleries. He was a very engaged client and drove the project forward from the client’s side between 1997 until 2001. He is a great loss…

At my “retirement dinner” on Wednesday evening I was given an enormous Blow Up film poster by the other directors, which I have coveted ever since we gave one to Basil when he left the practice. My favourite film! Many thanks everyone!

Three Pringle Richards Sharratt buildngs feature in Owen Hatherley's new book Modern Buildings in Britain A Gazetteer: Sheffield Millennium Galleries & Winter Garden, Herbert Art Gallery & Museum Coventry and Gallery Oldham. He says "Pringle Richards Sharratt is one of the great unsung architectural firms of recent years. Its formal repertoire is standard to post-1997 New Labour architecture…” Nice comments!

Memory Lane! One task I had to do as President of the Architectural Association from 1993 to 1995 was to award an Honorary AA Diploma to Sir Denys Lasdun in 1995, 57 years after he left without a diploma in 1937. Better late than never! He really appreciated it. I kept in touch with him and when we set up #prsarchitects in 1996 he wrote me this nice note, wishing our practice good luck. He was a really nice man.

#johnwinter (1930-2012) was a kind of architectural godfather to me, ever since he reviewed my Hopkins projects since 1984. Coincidentally my father-in-law Denis Richards was his first client at #morleycollege in 1958. He sent me this ironic note in 1995 pointing out that a partner at Robert Venturi’s office was also called John Pringle , John was always a foe of postmodernism!

After 17 years in Waterloo, the Carlisle Lane Lofts have been sold! A pioneering sustainable project in cross-laminated timber, manufactured in Bavaria, frame assembled in 2 weeks, revitalising a forgotten back plot in Waterloo. Highly commended in #woodawards 2005. Sad to go after all this time, a bright future under new ownership… #prsarchitects #lowermarsh #sustainabledesign #crosslaminatedtimberbuildings #finnforest #lambethnorth #woodawards
