Workshop announcement: Low Tech Server

What does it mean to design within ecological limits?
In this workshop hosted by Ibo Ibelings (@iebeaux ) from Creative Coding Utrecht (@creativecodingutrecht ), we’ll take the first steps toward a smaller, more sustainable internet as a physical and ecological system. Learn the basics of building a mini solar-powered web server using an old Android phone, and experience digital infrastructure in a tangible way. We’ll explore websites that sometimes go offline, adapt to sun and weather, and discover how constraints can inspire new aesthetics and stories. This workshop is created by Marie Verdeil (@marie_verdeil ) and Rein van der Woerd (@goudreinette ).

During the co-creation trajectory, collaborator Phoebe Zoe Ho designed the bar that can be found in PROTO.
Like appendages emerging from the walls and floor, the bar and seating partition in PROTO were designed to resemble cell-like structures that shape the space in both function and form.
Sculpted using natural materials, the forms appear soft from afar, but hard up close. This tension echoes the belief that softness and warmth can coexist with strength and resilience *･゜ﾟ･:.｡..｡🤲🏻

Workshop announcement: Projection Mapping with TouchDesigner

PROTO welcomes @creativecodingutrecht to bring you an interactive workshop on immersive projections. Explore the world of projection mapping, learn how to adapt and crop projections, and get hands-on experience setting up a multimedia project. Using a projector and TouchDesigner software, participants will dive straight into creating interactive visuals. This beginner-friendly workshop will be led by Niki Scheijen (@n1k1l1a ). No experience needed!
