Dock2Dock 5KM. My longest swim to date. Happy, proud, tired aching and chaffed doesnāt even cover it. What an absolutely outstanding day, at an awesome event, all the staff and volunteers were amazing. Will definitely be back next year. Distance still to be decided.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who give their time so we can swim, and a massive shout to @letsmakehappystuff for being the best swim buddy and friend a girl could ever wish for. š«¶

It had to happen sooner or later. A proper sea swim. Well, as proper as we dared in the week of Dock2Dock. Hard work against the tidal currents but good fun on the way back. Plenty of fun swimming through and against waves,following Hawk, the best tow float youāve ever seen!. Ignore the pace, bobbing about to regroup and check in on everyone has lowered that but it wasnāt about speed today. We decided half hour would do, with 5K to be done at the weekend, we didnāt want to be exhausted or find any random salt chaffing etc! Thanks again for inviting me along and getting me in the sea, Ruby. This time last year I wouldnāt have done that for fear of not being a strong enough swimmer. Weāve come a long way. Canāt wait for Saturday and our first 5K!

Another fantastic swim venue, just a shame I couldnāt do it justice. Turns out my cold hasnāt gone, struggling to breathe isnāt ideal when youāre swimming, so I just did the one 500m lap. Iāll be coming back here asap (hopefully before it gets cold!) to have a proper swim as it was a fantastic venue, clean water, lovely staff, changing tent, easy to get to. Everything you need.

Another absolutely smashing swim with @letsmakehappystuff and @bigdenlynne at Divers Cove this morning. I love swimming, but swimming in open water just hits different. Sometimes in the pool, itās a battle on the mind to keep going. Outdoors in a gorgeous venue, itās an absolute pleasure. What a way to kick off the day!

Swim Liverpool. What a venue!
Visiting Liverpool for a friends wedding, I did a quick google to see if anything came up for a swim. Im SO glad this place came up and I decided to take myself down there before the celebrations begin.
A fantastic venue, Mike is absolutely lovely and talked me through how it all worked, the swim was a 500m lap, and I loved the big bouys. Easy to spot.! The water was unsurprisingly warm given the recent weather. It was just a perfect afternoon out!
Considering I live in Brighton, Iāve never swum in salt water. Iāve had a little dip back home and on holidays, but this was a first proper swim. Got a couple of laps done, wanted a third but a cut Iāve got on my shoulder that didnāt agree with the saltwater. Decided to leave it there as it was starting to sting and leave feeling good, Iāll see if I can sneak another visit in before I go home as Iāve left wanting more.
Iāll be back and I canāt wait!

I finished work in time to head over to London Fields and get a few lengths done there. 1200m, nothing wild, but a really really good swim. Thereās something zen about that place. I always enjoy it, definitely one of my favourite lidos. Came away with a couple of new hats too. What a cracking end to the day, home tomorrow after work so no more London Lido tourism!

I took a trip to Hillingdon Lido after work today, it was LUSH! Pool was pretty chilly but itās unheated and the weather hasnāt been glorious so Iāll forgive that, there was me and one other swimmer in there. Absolutely perfect. A smashing 50m pool, lovely hot showers, clean changing cubicles and plenty of lockers. Huge thumbs up from me. One Iāll definitely go back to again. Planning a swim after work tomorrow too, different pool thoughā¦..

Iām staying in London tonight for work, so while i had an early-ish finish, I thought Iād take the chance to get a swim in. It was tempting to head to London Fields as thatās one of my favourites, but I thought Iād try somewhere different, so Parliament hill Fields Lido was the one.
An enjoyable swim in a long pool. 60 meters long. Itās VERY shallow at the shallow end, so swimming lengths is a bit of a challenge for the last 10 meters or so of each length, but itās just its quirk and part of the fun I guess.
The silver metal bottom and edges of the pool was really different and not like anywhere Iāve swum before. Very enjoyable indeed.
