Inspired equally by Spiritualized, Sgt. Pepper, and Page & Plant's Unledded, the album weaves Indian, Persian, and Roma musical traditions into densely arranged string, horn, and percussion sections — Eastern and Western tonalities merging into something powerfully its own. Contributions from Kelly Pratt (LCD Soundsystem, War on Drugs) and Steve Nistor (Sparks, Daniel Lanois) elevate the vision further still.

Released on this day 2019: "Urknall", a discography (up to that point) CD box set by German extreme metal trio @valborgband .
Valborg have always been willing to experiment, shift boundaries, and while always remaining true to their harsh and sinister musical core, the Germans have never stuck to one particular musical box while consciously avoiding to become trapped in a stylistic pigeon hole. As a result many stickers have been applied to their sound: doom, blackened death metal, industrial among others.
Norwegian artist Mortiis refuses every prior era on 'Ghosts of Europa,' out June 26th via @prophecypro .
As the feature notes of the album's second advance single: Ellefsen described 'Violent Silence' as drawn from a long text message written to his wife during a moment of personal failure — words from which, he observed, "the gut-wrenching sensation of guilt never goes away fully."
The title track, by contrast, opens outward: choral, ceremonial, unresolved. Both are available now on Bandcamp.

On their album, Nytt Land interpret traditional shamanic songs or spells of Siberia's Manchu–Tungus ethno-linguistic groups. These songs use ancient musical techniques such as throat singing and drums and they were recorded in their original language.

The world of FARSOT is a bleak and harsh place. This pitch-black realm is ruled by kings named Death, Fear, Grief, and Hatred. Since their founding in 1999, the Germans’ signature musical handwriting has always reflected these dark avatars, reaching a temporary pinnacle with their fourth album, ‘Life Promised Death‘ - an album that continues the path they have carved in avant-garde black metal throughout their history.
Their performance at the 2024 edition of our festival was postponed due to serious medical issues; this year they are back and we can’t be more excited about it.
