Yesterday, we joined legislators, advocates, midwives, doulas, and community members as Governor Healy signed the Maternal Health Bill into law. This landmark legislation marks a crucial step toward ensuring equitable care for all families. It includes provisions that can help bring awareness to and address pregnancy and infant loss and enhance community support for perinatal mental health and postpartum care.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who championed this cause, especially the PCCO families whose stories and advocacy have honored their angel babies and driven this change forward.

Meet Stephanie, an educator, maternal health advocate, and community leader committed to strengthening families and supporting mothers through every season.
Stephanie is also the owner of Belle Joie Doula & Family Services, where she provides doula care, childbirth education, lactation peer support, and family consulting centered around maternal wellness and preventing parental burnout.
After the heartbreaking stillbirth of her son, Simeon Jelani, Stephanie founded Propa City Community Outreach (@propacity_co ) and created the Team Simeon Grief Support Program to support families navigating pregnancy loss, pregnancy after loss, and postpartum mental health challenges.
She also serves as a commissioner for the Ellen Story Commission on Postpartum Depression and advocates for more equitable maternal healthcare across Massachusetts.
