Reuse where possible, give material that once lived a new purpose and build with what you have to hand. The majority of my studio is made from salvaged wood and other materials, mostly found in skips. As I (re)build my studio with timber that was destined for landfill after no time at all, it is mad to think how long some of the wood has been here in this building. Brand new pine trim and planks sitting next to original 14th century beams and portculis is quite the contrast. I wonder how much wood you could buy nowadays that would still be standing strong in the year 2726. #woodwork #micklegatebar #studiobuild #artstudio
