It took seven years to make Out There: A National Parks Story, and we couldn’t have imagined that this labor of love would screen at a time when the very foundation of our national parks is under threat.
Our small but mighty team has been working hard to bring the film to organizations and communities across the country, building towards a big fall tour and unprecedented digital release that we’re excited to share more on in the coming months.
If you love parks and want to follow along we’d love to share stories with you, behind the scenes clips, and build inclusive community with parks stewards from all walks of life. Check out the beginning of our social presence and join the journey at @outthere.film 🌲
We travelled with @roll.with.cole and @happilycharisma to St. Helena, SC where Charisma learned more about her Gullah Geechee roots. We’re so thankful to the community for welcoming us, and sharing their culture and history in this piece directed by @brendanfilm . Link in bio to watch their full journey.
Made in partnership with Marriott Bonvoy and the Washington Post Creative Group.

A young filmmaker sets out on a 10,000-mile exploration of the national parks with his childhood best friend during the centennial year of the formation of the National Park Service. Along the way, the two record stories of the people that work in the parks and those that come to enjoy them, as part of the rich tapestry of the history of the park system emerges. This stunning road trip is a tribute to the national parks and their history, and is also a recognition of the people that appreciate them and work to maintain their beauty.
Meet Jumaane. The people’s advocate. Jumaane is running for re-election as the city’s Public Advocate and we were excited to partner with his campaign for this spot from inception to the edit. Catch the ad directed by @jaredmroyal playing on TVs near you.
“Public art can bring people together like no other thing can do in the world.”
From Kansas City to Reno, the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Asphalt Art Initiative uses art and urban design to create safer and more vibrant neighborhoods. We had the joy of filming with communities across the country coming together to revitalize their public spaces.
We helped the Washington Post Creative Group and AT&T capture how a new narrative format, spatial storytelling, is shifting the visual language of journalism. Check out the link in bio for the article.
