The fuel gauge stopped working on the way up, and the faucet is leaking, but I am so damn happy to be back out in the woods with the Syncro. 90,000 miles young!!

We’ve made dozens of upgrades and changes to the van over the last few months. Boxeer TDI swap, interior paneling got a color change and refresh, a custom table, among a handful of other bits that I’ll post on here soon. Maybe. At some point.
Anywho - the thing fucking rips.
This is what happens when “while I’m in there” goes a bit too far. Turbo diesel swap inbound and I’m debating if I should rebuild the gearbox in my kitchen.

We are so back…
After almost 2 years, we finally have the Syncro back in Brooklyn. It went upstate to have rust repair and a fresh coat of paint. We decided to color match the pop top and the mirrors - which look great. So excited to take it into the woods for our first camping trip.

Nostalgic for camping and road tripping in the bus. It’s truly odd how much of your own identity you can place in a vehicle; and how uncomfortable you can feel when you haven’t driven it for a long time. Perhaps not so surprising to those who’ve owned one of these.
The #syncro has been under the knife getting rust repair, panel replacement and a fresh paint job for a little over a year now - but hopefully, not much longer. Can’t wait to drive it again.

My wife @jamiee.jamess and I have spent about 5 years rebuilding this van. The interior at least, is super dialed in. So removing every piece, and every custom part I had installed in order to prep for body repair was tough.
At the same time, I’m super excited to finally be addressing the rust, and even more excited to be getting it painted, and undercoated.
While it’s away, we’ll rebuild the cabinets, and add a few more custom bits that we’ve been playing around with.
