I didn’t feel ready. I didn’t feel qualified. But I started anyway. @projectstyleu was never part of some perfect plan. It actually started with me investing in a course that I thought was going to give me everything I needed… And while it did help me—it just wasn’t in the way I expected. What it did do was open my eyes 👀 It showed me what was missing. It showed me what I needed. And it showed me what other stylists like me needed too. So in 2020, I created Project Style University. Not because I had it all figured out…But because I knew I wasn’t the only one trying to figure it out. Since then, I’ve been blessed to help over 200 stylists start, grow, and scale their businesses to profit. And I’m just getting started. If you’ve been waiting to feel “ready”… this is your reminder that you may never feel ready. But you can still start. #projectstyleu #story #coachingforpersonalstylists #firstgenerationpersonalstylists

POV: You stopped boxing yourself in and started evolving as a creative. Over the past 6 months, I added a new offer to my styling business: ✨ trunk show styling + trunk show curation And now I’m managing luxury trunk show experiences, curating spaces, styling clients, leading teams, and learning so much about what’s possible when you allow yourself to pivot. A brand that once laid me off… has now brought me back in a completely different capacity. That’s what happens when you: • continue growing • stay open to pivoting • and trust God enough to evolve There is so much more you can do in this industry beyond what you initially imagined. Stop limiting yourself. There are opportunities out here with your name on them. 🎥 Full ATL trunk show vlog is now live on YouTube 🔗 #Stylesavant #FashionCreative #TrunkShow #LuxuryStyling #Fashionindustry

I wish more personal stylists understood this… You can run a full-time styling business with no income cap— even if you’re just starting. But the shift happens when you realize this: You are not “just” a stylist. You are a: ✨ Problem solver ✨ Confidence builder ✨ Educator ✨ Transformation expert And once you understand that? You stop limiting your income to just one-on-one services. Because not everyone is meant to work with you privately—and that’s okay. That just means you need more ways to serve. → Speaking engagements → Workshops & events → Content creation → YouTube + monetization → Affiliate links + shoppable content → Brand partnerships There are so many ways to generate income in this industry. But it requires you to: ✔️ Expand your perspective ✔️ Diversify your expertise ✔️ And show up beyond just styling clients This is how you build a business that is sustainable, scalable, and limitless. 🎥 Watch the full breakdown + how to get started: “7 Ways to Make More Money as a Personal Stylist” 🔗 #diversify #multipleincomestreams #personalstylists #diversifyyourexpertise

Stop playing small with your gifts. At one point, I treated styling like something I loved… but not something that could fully sustain me. I thought being a stylist meant: → Putting outfits together → Cleaning out closets → Getting clients dressed for events And while yes, that’s a part of it… that’s not the full picture. What I didn’t realize at the time was this: 👉🏽 I was saving my clients time. 👉🏽 I was eliminating stress. 👉🏽 I was educating them. 👉🏽 I was helping them build confidence. 👉🏽 I was shifting how they saw themselves. I was transforming lives. And once I understood that…everything changed. My mindset shifted. My confidence grew. And I started treating my work like the real business that it is. If you’re a stylist still treating your passion like a side hustle…this is your sign to shift. Because what you do has value. Real value. And the sooner you see it, the sooner everything else will follow. 🎥 Watch my latest YouTube video for 5 pieces of advice I wish every Personal Stylist Knew 🔗 #coachingforpersonalstylists #knowyourworth #thisisnotasidehustle

Who doesn’t love a little #bts? If you haven’t watched my entire Making the Brand episode, this is your sign. You’ll learn a bit more about me, my story and how SCB came about. Mia was the perfect client because she allowed me to push her out of her comfort zone even after hearing what she didn’t (thought) she didn’t like lol Thank you so much to @ctln_network for this experience and creating a comfortable space for me to be me ❤️ #founderfiles #makingthebrand #styleexpert #anthropologie

If you’re a personal stylist and you’re only showing up on Instagram…we need to talk. There are 4 other platforms that can position you as an expert and help you connect with your ideal clients on a deeper level: ✨ YouTube ✨ LinkedIn ✨ Threads ✨ Substack Each one allows you to go beyond aesthetics and actually share your knowledge, your perspective, and your expertise. Because styling isn’t just about putting outfits together… It’s about how you think. How you guide. How you transform your clients. And these platforms? They give you the space to show that. Start expanding your presence. Your audience is bigger than one app. Which platform are you ready to take more seriously? 👀 #personalstylist #stylisttips #fashionbusiness #contentcreator #personalbranding

Almost 13 years in the styling industry has taught me a lot… Some lessons came from amazing opportunities. Others came from mistakes I had to learn from the hard way. But there are 5 pieces of advice I believe every personal stylist should hear, especially if you’re building your career as a first-generation stylist: 1️⃣ Don’t be afraid to follow up 2️⃣ Don’t box yourself in 3️⃣ Never lowball yourself just to get a client 4️⃣ If an opportunity doesn’t exist, create it 5️⃣ Always do it scared This reel is the short version. If you want the full breakdown and context behind each one, I just uploaded the full video on YouTube. 🎥 Watch the full video on my YouTube channel (link in bio) 👀 Tell me in the comments: Which one do you need to hear the most right now? ⬇️ #personalstylist #stylingbusiness #stylebizadvice #stylisttips #fashionentrepreneur

#heystylists If you’re a personal stylist and you struggle with following up, this is your reminder: Following up isn’t annoying. Following up is professional. Most opportunities aren’t lost because you weren’t talented enough. They’re lost because you didn’t follow up 🤷🏽‍♀️ And honestly? That’s just one of the lessons I’ve learned in almost 13 years in the styling industry. 👉🏽 I just released a new YouTube video where I’m sharing 5 pieces of advice I believe every first-generation personal stylist should hear, including why following up can completely change your opportunities. If you’re serious about growing as a personal stylist, go watch it 👀 Link in bio 🔗 And tell me in the comments: Do you struggle with following up…or have you gotten better at it? #adviceforpersonalstylists #thebusinessofstyling #followup #doitscared

So this was originally supposed to just be a day in the life, but as I was editing it, I thought that I should start sharing more of my day-to-day with y’all in this series called “Founder Files” ✨ I feel like most of my days are pretty “boring” because I’m literally just doing administrative work and crossing off tasks on my to-do list. But since I really don’t share a lot in my stories, I figured this series would be the perfect way for me to share bts lol I’m not exactly sure how often I will be sharing these but if y’all like this one, I might just keep it up 😅 #founderfiles #dayinthelife #entreprener #arealisticdayinthelife
