Morocco, 2022. This was our first volunteer day in Élanoura history, at Project Soar in Douar Laadam outside Marrakech. We spent the afternoon beading “Empowerment Word” bracelets in English and Arabic with the teen girls there. We helped each other place letters in alphabets we did not share, trading words like “kind” and “strong” across two scripts. The girls were teaching us as much as we were teaching them. These are girls growing up in a country where 1 in 7 of them will be married before turning 18, often because period poverty pushes them out of school first. Our cohort donated $3,208 to Project Soar’s Stop Period Poverty campaign, funding three years of period products for 255 girls. That means three years of staying in school, and three years of different futures ahead. You can support Project Soar directly at @projectsoar and through the link in our bio. #girlsrights #periodpoverty

✨️ A new chapter begins What if girls everywhere had access to the tools and support they need to lead?  💥 Through Soar Your Way, our empowerment curriculum will become more accessible, adaptable, and scalable, helping partners deliver girl-centred programming in their own communities. 🌍 Developed in partnership with @unfpamaroc , Soar Your Way brings the Soar Solution to more girls, in ways that are rooted in local realities and adapted to each community’s context. We are so excited about this! Follow along as this new chapter unfolds. ✨️
