Over the past 3 weeks, we have distributed over 7,800 pounds of food. Thanks to you, our community, who when the times get tough, provide us energy and support to continue the good fight. We’re proud to stay nimble to address the specific needs of our marginalized and under-supported communities. We aren’t going anywhere. We’re feeling especially grateful and fortunate to be able to share a meal with family and friends today and are thinking about those who for this day, and these times, are not able to do so. We are with you 🧔

Bib Gourmand. The work never stops. I’m so proud to be affiliated with PAGU and to call @tracypagu a best friend and amazing, inspirational, and thoughtful leader of our team. I wish you could all see the relentless nature of innovation that is the restaurant business. I wish you could all see the 2am planning (and dreaming) calls during the Covid-19 pandemic. I wish you could see the volume of emails asking for guidance about community work and what it means to be more than a restaurant. There’s so much I wish you could all see about @gopagu . You’ll just have to come learn šŸ˜‰

While the SNAP shutdown is heavily impacting families across Massachusetts, at BCP we refuse to let that stand in the way of supporting our community. It has been incredible to see our team rally together—finding creative solutions and alternative ways to help our patients and families during this difficult and stressful time. We are also deeply grateful for our amazing partners who make this work possible. A huge shoutout to @projectrestoreus for their incredible generosity in donating an entire pallet of rice and beans! This donation, along with the fresh produce, canned goods, and even meat we are distributing thanks to the support of @ncl_wellesley , will ensure our patients not only have food on their tables but nourishing, high-quality meals to help them thrive even in tough times. We are all in this together—and nothing can stop us. THIS is the BCP way. šŸ’ŖšŸ½ā¤ļø

Our friend Cecilia Lizotte, chef-owner of @suyajoint , is facing a crisis. Her manager and brother Paul has been detained by ICE. Cecilia and her team are like family to us; during COVID, they joined forces with PAGU and @projectrestoreus to pack culturally appropriate groceries for families in need. In the darkest times of Covid, Cecilia, Suya Joint, and Paul helped others. Now, we stand with them in theirs. Please consider supporting Cecilia, Paul and Suya Joint through their GoFundMe. /f/stand-with-paul-legal-fees-for-his-release?attribution_id=sl%3Aeb61f0ac-4d14-4572-bc64-da589a6e24b9&utm_campaign=man_sharesheet_dash&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link

After canceling the last market day due to extreme cold, we're thrilled to see a relatively warm and sunny forecast ahead for this Saturday! Project Restore Us' winter sales Saturdays at Boston Housing Authority's Gallivan site are more popular than ever! This Saturday, we're restocking much-requested jasmine rice and popular beans, but we need to fill 5 volunteer shifts to help us get those products to our eager customers. Can you donate a couple of hours of your time this weekend? Fill out the volunteer form, link in our bio.

Hello friends and family, We’ve been a little quiet for a while, but we’re very excited to make a bunch of announcements! šŸšFirst, we’re so happy to announce that we’re officially our own 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation! We are so thankful for @commonwealthkitchenboston for supporting us and our endeavors of the last few years. Thank to you to our amazing team of volunteers who worked for almost an entire year to make this official! šŸšSecond, we’ve launched farmers market operations at @bostonhousingauthority in Mattapan. This will be a permanent Saturday operation to bring grains, beans, and other pantry staples to this community. Plus, we’ve finally found a storage solution for our pantry staples that is close to Mattapan, so we’re no longer hauling goods from Alewife to Mattapan. Thank you so much to @bostonharbordistil for helping us store our goods! We are also so, so thankful to our friends at @revivalcafeandkitchen for all of their support in storing these goods for the past year! šŸšThird, we are actively looking for Saturday volunteers at the BHA farmers market and seeking donations through the winter months to keep the farmers markets well stocked. We’ve sold out almost every week since opening, which goes to show what a need this community has! Please consider donating time or funds to help our neighbors in Greater Boston this holiday season. Check out the link in our bio for more information on volunteering and donations. We’ll be posting more updates on available volunteer shifts in our stories. Turn on notifications by clicking the bell icon at the top of our profile to be alerted if a shift need filling!

Can you spare 2 hours this Saturday? We need 8 more volunteers for this Saturday, October 22nd! Because of our dedicated volunteers, we've had such a successful season of bringing low-cost pantry staples to our neighbors at the Mattapan Farmers Market. Please help us finish out the last few opportunities to bring these essential food items to those who need them. Use the link in bio to sign up and tag a friend below! #boston #volunteeropportunity #foodinsecurity #bostonvolunteers

2 hours is all it takes to help bring low-cost pantry staples to our neighbors at the Mattapan Farmer’s Market. Whether you can transport the goods or man the tables, your help is greatly appreciated by those who look forward to us bringing these culturally relevant food items each Saturday. Sign up and share with your friends!
