On Friday, February 20, San Joaquin Delta College hosted an inspiring and impactful Reentry Conference focused on bringing together organizations, practitioners, and leaders across the reentry space. It was a powerful opportunity for us all to come together under one roof — collaborating, exchanging strategies, and strengthening community partnerships.
Together, we are creating meaningful pathways of support for individuals returning to our communities. 💙
The conference featured dynamic and informative tracks, including:
🏠 SJC Alliance Collaborative Housing Track – Securing stable housing after incarceration
💼 Employment Track – Getting back to work & second-chance hiring opportunities
⚖️ Legal Track – Knowing your rights & advocacy for reentry policy
🌿 Wellness Track – Healing, recovery, and substance abuse support
🤝 Bridging the Gap with Law Enforcement – Strengthening community relationships
👨👩👧 Parenting Before & After Prison – Rebuilding family connections
🎓 Education & Training Track – Expanding access to higher education and career pathways
🙏 Faith-Based Reentry Track – Community-centered support and restoration
We are proud that seven of our Project Rebound scholars attended, alongside staff members Missy and Tracy and Stockton Campus Dean, Dr. Sarah Sweitzer. Most impressed by Project Rebound alumni, Henry Romero, for his leadership and development of this transformative conference.

We had an AMAZING time at the 54th Annual JCCASAC Conference last week! We were able to take 2 students that will soon be graduating, and this was their very first time attending a conference. 👏🏽🎉 They were able to listen to some amazing speakers, network, and share their stories.
We had an amazing workshop yesterday. John Peery shared his expertise on how to build a successful business and the students gained a wealth of knowledge. Thank you, John!! 🙌🏽👏🏽
Yesterday we had an amazing Professional Development Workshop, “Building a Career with Intent”, facilitated by John Peery, CEO of Cal-Sierra Pipe, LLC. John runs a very successful business and has a passion in supporting and hiring justice impacted individuals. He provided his expertise on developing a successful business, how to address gaps in their resume and addressing it during an interview, and so much more! This workshop was for our Rebound students and we partnered with the @stanstatecareer - we are so thankful for the hard work that was put in and are looking forward to the next one!
We had a BUSY day yesterday! Our Program Coordinator and five of our students (Surjevon, Jeremy, Destini, Gracie, and Jr) were invited by faculty members to share their testimonies and program information to a few classes on campus. Faculty and students were moved by their powerful stories and were extremely thankful.
📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Please join me in welcoming our two new student assistants to the Project Rebound team here at Stan State! They just started this week and hit the ground running! They are exceeding expectations and we couldn’t be more happier to have them be a part of the team.
SURJEVON is a Business Administration student and scheduled to graduate this May. His attention to detail and follow up skills are amazing!
DESTINI is a Sociology student and will be graduating this summer. Her passion and drive for social work is extremely admirable.
