Vroom vroom! Project Open Hand's first electric vehicle is officially on the road. Over the next few years, we plan to upgrade our entire fleet of electric vehicles. Just like it's our responsibility to provide quality nutrition to our clients, it's also our responsibility to think long-term about how we impact our community. Learn more about other improvements we're making in our Sustainability Manifesto, available now at the link in our bio.

⏰ Only 7 hours left! Ruth Brinker Giving Day is almost over—and every gift is still matched dollar for dollar. Every donation matters. A gift of $35 can help provide 12 nutritious lunches for clients. $50 can help support a month of life-saving meals. $250 can help expand mobile groceries for a dozen clients, and $1,000 or more helps sustain nutrition services for dozens of neighbors across our programs. Help us finish strong and double your impact for medically tailored meals before midnight.

On the last day of National Volunteer Week, we're spotlighting Gary, a Project Open Hand volunteer for the last 34 years. After being diagnosed with terminal AIDS in 1992, Gary retired and started delivering meals with us to fill his time. "The people we were delivering to touched my heart and convinced me this was the work I should continue to do," he says. Today, Gary is a dedicated East Bay Grocery Center volunteer and a living testament to the impact of Project Open Hand. Gary pens his own story in this special blog post. Check it out at the link in our bio.
