An incredible photo by @mikecoots of the teeth of a Great White shark. Teeth are some of the only remaining DNA we have from great whites caught in Indonesian waters. Did you know in 2014 a study analysed mitochondrial DNA from a retained tooth of a 6 metre white shark caught in 2013 by one of our fishermen. The researchers compared the DNA sequence to known white shark populations and concluded the shark most likely originated from an Australian population.

BARGIS joined our crew this month thanks to you guys, instead of fishing sharks they are engaging in tourism... the Captian started fishing at 16 years old. He was in school but his father needed crew, so he had to quit. He has a 7 year old daughter, he fishes to pay for her needs. He told me the worse part of fishing for him is being scared of the hooks- but they put family first and fish. He told us the craziest thing he's ever caught was an oceanic white tip, he said it was the biggest shark he's ever seen.
