More good times at the Salton Sea. Waley started off by asking how high we could go. I told him “all the way.” Once we got in the air and I asked him what he wanted to do, he just said “higher.” Once we got high and I asked him what he wanted to do, he said “higher.” OK we did that and then we went on a nice tour. What a sweet guy and he brought his mom and sister along. Sister went for a flight, Mom not so much.
So great to meet Wotjek on the day after his hundred miler at Palm Springs. His nonprofit is up to great things and after this flight, he just might become a paraglider. Check out ablebodied.org @wojtekpoppe - also huge thanks to Ducky Tysdal @oklahomaparamotor for the assist (you are on the team now brother man)
Super short story – Paramotor and Paragliding are incredibly weather dependent and this was a windy day. We let Wotjek know as early as we could that we might not get to fly. He was unwavering and insisted that he should come out and see what it’s all about - that we said “yes – that’s the spirit!”
After a few hours of watching the wind blow and watching a few people fly – as if by some sort of miracle – the wind changed 90°, the temperature dropped 15° and it was perfect for flying. The flight was a dream and we chalked it up to Wotjek bringing the good vibes. After all – that’s how it works.
Friday PM - all day Saturday - Sunday AM - call or text 801 706 6076 - there is a daily fee associated with the event, but we can help those with need.
Brother @joshuathejedi is a comedian. Check him out, he’s great. He happens to be visually impaired but the dude is gold. He has stoke for days, feels all the things and is the life of the party. Love his style. In case you are wondering, people who are visually impaired have learned to fly solo.
