💡 Sleep is one of the most powerful—and overlooked—foundations of health. ☕️ We've been taught to push through exhaustion, fuel up on caffeine, and tell ourselves we’ll “catch up later.” But the truth is, there’s no substitute for sleep. ❗️Millions of people struggle with sleep loss and sleep disorders without realizing the full impact. When sleep suffers, so does productivity, decision-making, and long-term well-being. 🩵 The more we understand #sleep, the better we can recognize sleep disorders, challenge harmful myths, and advocate for sleep equity. 📢 Download our FREE fact sheet at the 🔗 in our bio and help spread the truth about sleep and sleep disorders! #SleepEducation #SleepAwareness #SleepFacts #SleepDisorders #SleepWeek #SleepAwarenessWeek #SleepHealth #ProjectSleep

💤 Many of us have wondered, “Why am I always so tired?” 🔎 Sleepiness, fatigue, and depression can feel similar, and it’s often hard to explain the differences to loved ones or even healthcare providers. Understanding these distinctions can help people communicate their symptoms more clearly and get the support they need. ⭐ Sleepiness means you can fall asleep during the day when given the chance. ⭐ Fatigue is a low‑energy, worn‑out feeling that doesn’t improve with sleep. ⭐ Depression‑related tiredness stems from changes in mood, motivation, and interest — not a physical need for sleep. 🧠 Project Sleep believes that #mentalhealth and #sleephealth are deeply connected. Both deserve attention, compassion, and real conversation. 💖 May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth! Join us in raising awareness by learning more and sharing this important information. ➡️ Read the full blog on sleepiness, fatigue, & depression at the 🔗 in our bio.

🌼 May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth! Mental health and sleep health are closely related, but how exactly are they intertwined? 🔎 Starting with #emotion, multiple studies have found that sleep loss not only increases negative emotional reactions to disruptive events, but also subdues positive benefits of rewarding activities. 🗣️ “A lot of the research that’s out there right now is pointing in the direction that a single night of sleep is helpful. It’s helpful for processing the memory itself, and it’s also important for emotional regulation in general.” - Dr. Elaina Bolinger 💯 Project Sleep believes that both #mentalhealth and #sleephealth are critical and underrated in our society. We are excited to share the connections between #sleep and mental health throughout this month! 💖 Like, share, and read the full blog at the 🔗 in our bio.

⚠️ “Can you drive with narcolepsy?” I get this question a lot, and it’s a complex and important topic to handle with care. Here’s how I answer…. ❗️It’s important to know that while I do drive (with caution), experiences vary. 💡It’s also important to know that TREATMENTS exist and can help. I’ve heard of people thinking they could have narcolepsy, but don’t want pursue diagnosis for fear of losing their license. Treatments are not perfect but csn help, along with awareness of your condition. 🚙😵‍💫Driving drowsy not knowing what is causing your sleepiness (could also be sleep apnea or idiopathic hypersomnia), is dangerous. Seek support, contact @project_sleep ’s Sleep Helpline and consult a sleep specialist. 🔜Stay tuned for an upcoming @project_sleep #narcolepsynerdalert broadcast about #narcolepsy & driving!

🛑 “I just thought it was normal.” So many women say this about symptoms that could actually be #sleepapnea. 😴 In this #SleepApneaSquad broadcast, we talked about how women often chalk up unrefreshing sleep, headaches, mood changes, or frequent nighttime awakenings to a number of things such as stress or hormones. 🩺 These symptoms are not just part of being busy or being a woman. They are real health signals worth paying attention to. 💛 When women are taught to put everyone else first, it becomes easy to overlook our own needs. Recognizing these signs could be the key to finally feeling rested. ➡️ Learn more about what women need to know about how sleep apnea symptoms show up and when women should advocate for themselves in medical settings in the full "Women and Sleep Apnea" broadcast, available on Project Sleep's YouTube channel (🔗 in bio)!
