My morning in the city before work wearing yellow!! It's always great to spend time with my buddy Langston, her mom, and their friends at the New Victory Theater. I also ran into a friend, Cynthia, whom I have not seen in about 10+ years. Look at how the universe connects us for joyfully specific reasons.💛🌼🥂

Good morning y’all!! Today, I am filled with even more hope and gratitude, inspired by a powerful truth: that out of pain can emerge profound joy. Our journey as Black people in America has not been easy. We have faced immense hardships, adversity, and systemic challenges that have tested our resilience. Yet, through it all, we have continually demonstrated an extraordinary grit, resilience, and tenacity. Like the roots of a mighty tree that grow deep in the soil, drawing strength from every trial faced, our history is rich with stories of overcoming obstacles. Each painful moment has been a stepping stone, shaping not only our identity but also the future of generations yet to come. We have an incredible opportunity to mold the next generation, guiding them with the wisdom and courage we have gained through our experiences. It is in our power to transform challenges into triumphs. We can instill values of perseverance, unity, and hope in our youth, showing them that even in the darkest times, there is a light that guides us forward. They are the ones who will carry our legacy, and we have the honor of supporting their journey. As we reflect on our past and look towards the future, let us embrace the beauty of our culture and the richness of our heritage. Let us teach our children about their roots, their history, and the importance of standing strong in the face of adversity. We are more than the trials we have faced; we are a community of survivors, warriors, and dreamers. Let us celebrate this spirit of resilience and remind each other that together, we can overcome any challenge. Thank you for your dedication to molding our youngest generations, for in doing so, we nurture not just individual potential but the promise of a brighter future for all. Thank you❤️ Seize your ancestral joy🥰

Heading out this early morning after wrapping up my shift at 11 PM to do one of my favorite things—reading to kindergarteners in Harlem! Today’s book tackles stranger danger with a dash of Gullah folklore. Volunteering has been my jam since childhood, and now I see how important it is for bridging gaps in educational funding and parental support. It’s all about building a better future, one story at a time. I still remember those readers in my primary classes, so here I am, ready to spark giggles and answer as many “why?” questions as I can—hopefully without Googling!
