A little insight into our lights! Many of our audience members have told us they loved the lighting of Taalam (Rhythm)! We use lights to emphasize various moments, visualize the conversation between the two dance styles, and more. We have a dancer backstage calling the light cues to make sure the timing of each lighting look matches the moment!

A fun transition (attempt) through our 2nd day of student outreach!!
For the majority of our elementary and middle school audience, it was their first time seeing or hearing about Bharatanatyam, learning the history of American Rhythm Tap, and experiencing complex polyrhythmic collaborations between these two styles. It was incredibly powerful to hear from students, educators, and parents about the impact this had on the students. Many left the assembly tapping their feet, practicing their mudras, and filled with curiosity about a new culture. This is why we do what we do!
